Hey brain I have a 2003 ion and found out two days ago I myself have a gas leak in which I suspected. I'm a VERY car savy lady. But I need to know what a particular part is. Ok… let's start at the fill neck…. follow it all the way to the rear of the tank I'm replacing the hose BUT it is also the portion the fill hose attaches to on the rear of the tank. Help! Thanks!

I have a buick lacrosse 2010 cxs 3.6 with direct injection and did a full tune up. and before that I was getting 13.5 mpg and id have to fuel up every 3 days and works only 5 miles away/ if I go to Los angeles from Bakersfield the tank gets empty pretty quickly by the time I get there hardly any traffic over the week. after my tune up nothin changed, so I'm wondering if I have a leak in my tank like this Saturn?

TheCopaMundial says:

Can you reach the fuel sending unit from the top by removing the back seat?
Never did one on a GM but have been able to use that approach on a Honda and VW. Seemed much easier than dropping the tank. In those cases the issues were with the sending unit itself rather than the line though. So may not matter in this case.
