Wendy Nabors says:

I dropped the steering wheel down like in the video. I put the steering wheel back up and I can’t get my steering wheel to tilt down towards my knees. Can you please help?

Mike Smith says:

It’s my odometer light, it comes on but is so dim I can’t read it, what can I do?

c a says:

You fail to mention that there are 2 screws holding the dashpad in the middle that must be removed with a socket set.

Bob Dole says:

Hey Richpin start a gofundme for all the help you provide. I will throw down, I’m sure many others will, it’s cool you do this to help people, but the appreciation has monetary value good sir. Seriously. You deserve to garnish retirement worthy funds from how much money you have saved tons of people man. Thank you

Dearingermeister says:

Apparently my screwheads under the steering column are 5.5mm and I don’t have anything that fits in standard or metric

Josh Piper says:

Is there a bulb for the odometer light? My odometer doesn’t light up, how do I go about accessing the bulb for this ?

Wil Mil Man says:

Question Richpin?
Would make a difference if gen 2 has tilt steering? Would I still have to remove the two bolts to lower the steering column to get the cluster out? Would be enough to lower the column with the tilt?

Larry Recar says:

Looks like a first gen to me

Sebastian Morrison says:

I’m having trouble with the connector and the ear kind of tore a bit so the plastic is loose I’m not sure where I should be placing my screwdriver and I’m not sure if I can get the connector out now? Any thoughts?

TheRayDog says:

Excellent Rich, thanks for putting this video up all those years ago.

libby2012 says:

Any ideas on rebuilding the circuit board for the instrument cluster?

Matthew Douglas says:

This is like, way more work than similar videos show for this car.
All of this just to replace instrument cluster bulbs? I don't believe it.

David s says:

When I was doing my car I was imitating your voice lol. "remove da clusta…." then when I removed the steering wheel column I was like " now rememba thiers two longated screws"…."da video is gona end hear ya…and dats et" lol it was so fun!

David Girard says:

Thank you for this help. Just bought a 1995 SL2 with that horrible dashboard. I used another way since it's -20 celsius and didn't wanted to freeze my knees to death. I needed to know how to reach the 2 back bolts of the cluster so it helped! Thanks

Alicia Major says:

My car's dash cluster won't work more the gas gauge or temperature

California Cruisin’ says:

Is there an instrument cluster test mode? My tach needle usually takes around 5-10 seconds to activate upon startup. It takes longer on cold days. Is this an issue? Is there a test mode?

Edward Boot says:

richpin, thanks for another awesome and very helpful video on disassembling my car! I used this to put new lights in my instrument panel. I've watched many of your other videos on the Saturn as well as the 2004 Impala video. What a helpful service you provide to people who need car help on YouTube with these videos.

Jesse Gell-Redman says:

Awesome video!  Thanks a ton.

Stevie Wonder says:

Thanks once again Rich! I just changed the light bulb for the odometer, { well, swiped it from the seat belt lamp, I think I know when I'm wearing it.} And while I was at it, I got to polish the  fine scratches on the cluster. Have a great, safe weekend!

Tyrone Felton says:

That's a real pain to get to you have to take the battery in the battery box out I just had to start a rebuilt and even that was a pain to get to. Thank you for your help

Tyrone Felton says:

Yes the odometer the trap the gas and the RPM's work like they should it's just the speedometer which one do you think I should do first? It's easy to pull out the gauge cluster on the bug. Its a lot of work to get to the transmission to get to the speed sensor.

Tyrone Felton says:

I have a 1998 VW bug and the speedometer only works when it wants to. Should I get a new speedometer or are the part that goes in the transmission that tells me to speed which one should I do first? And because it is electronic well at have the same mileage as my original speedometer or well I have the mileage from another car if I swap it out? Do you now?

richpin06a says:

It sounds like you might have some loose wires or a corroded fuse somewhere.

Florencio Garcia says:

I have an 87 Porsche 944. After rearglass installation my dashboard went dead. at night the dashboard light flashes on and off. the dashboard came back to live one more time and it died again. i checked the fuses and they measure 0 resistance like its supposed to. should i start by removing the instrument cluster?

Russell Martin says:

Exactly what I was looking for. I enjoyed your format; work on the vehicle quickly and with the right tools out and then narrate it later. Too many people dick around with the camera while trying to talk.
Thanks!

cptviggi says:

Dude, Bro, Thank you so much!!!! Done in an hour!!!!! Shellerz and I thank you!!!!

richpin06a says:

It might be easier to change the cluster then to take it apart.

shellerz3 says:

My speedometer is pegged at 130mph even when I am not moving. I don't think it's the VSS. Would I have to change the whole instrument panel or can I change the speedometer only? Thanks
