Massive Saturn Vue Engineering Mistake

Massive Saturn Vue Engineering Mistake

Years ago, I got tired of replacing the factory upper engine mounts on the Saturn Vue Red Line equipped with the Honda J35 V6. The original hydraulic mount was never designed to handle the amount of torque these engines produce, and over time they would fail.

So I came up with my own solution.

The Clay Way Ultimate Engine Mount Cradle was originally built to solve my own problem, but over the years it evolved into something much better. This video documents the first customer installation of the latest version and some of the improvements I made to simplify production and make the design easier to replicate.

A huge thank you to Shannon for being the first person to purchase one.

This isn’t the detailed engineering video. That’s coming soon. In that video I’ll break down exactly why the factory mount fails, how the load is transferred through the original design, and why this cradle changes the way the forces are applied to the mount.

If anyone else can do it, you can do it too.
