@ewzm Wow it has been a long time since I’ve looked at my comments. Sorry.
To answer your first question I marked where the blue and the gray sockets
go on the circuit board. Second. I have had only one little problem due to
my own carelessness. I didnt clip in the one side of the wire harness on
the back of the cluster. This made the tachometer not work. That meant i
had to take the whole dash apart again. Just make sure to really clean out
the broken bits from the odometer housing.
Thanks. This saved me a lot of money on repairing my odometer, which is now
working again. My only problem is that my heater display no longer lights
up, so I have to grope to turn on and set my heat in the dark. Oh well,
it’s an old car. I’m happy and I learned a lot.
I noticed that some of the light bulbs have blue plastic bases whereas
others have gray bases. Does it matter if they’re switched around during
replacement? Also, how is your repair holding up since you posted this
video? Is there anything you would do differently if you had to do it again?
@ghtowagon yes, my odometer stopped working. It is apparently not an
uncommon problem with the later model Saturns.
