Today we’re gonna show you how to replace an ignition switch. How do you know if the ignition switch needs to be replaced? In my case we had smoke coming from the steering column. Ignition switch replacement costs can vary from $80-$110 from what I’ve found.. If you think you have an ignition switch failure, check for smoke coming from your steering column. You will have to get a new key when replacing the ignition switch. There are many way’s to know if you have bad ignition switch. You DO NOT have to remove the steering column to replace a bad ignition switch in the Chevy Equinox, or Saturn Vue’s. If you need to know how to change your ignition switch I cover everything you need to remove in order to get your ignition switch removed and replaced.

I’ll also show you how to remove your turn signal switch and how to remove your windshield wiper switch in this video. As that was what was actually causing the smoking from your steering wheel.
