I have a 2010 Equinox and I just had it up at a local garage. They showed me how there was a tear in the bushing. At 68,000 miles is this normal? I wonder if its covered on the extended warranty.
Does GM have a separate part number for the rear (silver housing) bushing that’s held on by 18mm and 15mm
nut ans bolts ? My ball joint and smaller bushing is good.
Thanks
It could. Also check the sway bar end links for worn bushings.
Can a lower control arm bushing cause vibration when braking? Already changed rotors and tie rods.
Over time if you let the lower control arms go and the bushings wear away, the rod will put more stress on the bolts and it has the potential to fail and the arm be torn away from the vehicle.
Took my 2008 Equinox in today because there was a thumping noise when I accelerated, went in reverse, hit a bump, and made a turn. It didn’t happen all the time but enough for me to notice. He said I need to replace the lower arm control bushings. Here’s my question, if I just let it go like it is what will happen? The car drives absolutely fine otherwise.
Good video. U guys should make a video on how to replace the lower control arm on a 98 chrysler cirrus.
They should be different on that application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular repair.
Great job. I need some lower control arms for my 99 grand prix as well as front wheel bearings. Is the procedure to change the front control arms the same for a 99 grand prix?
good job
very good video
Another good video, thanks!
Great video, thanks for posting
