Since you made that look easy, maybe you can help me. I have a 2001 Saturn L200 and I need to replace the blower motor resistor. I can’t seem to find it. Any ideas where it is and how do I access it?

Autotechviewpoint says:

Not sure, best to just compare what you see in the video with what you see your car has, or looks like.

TheDooper94 says:

is it the same for a 98 saturn?

Made it look to easy bro

Autotechviewpoint says:

temp. knob controls a door by way of cable. From what I can tell, the cable runs down to the passenger side center of car. there should be a panel on the passenger side you can take off, like accessing the heater core. look for the cable. move the temp control knob and look for a moving cable and where it is attached. find the door (lever) and try to operate in manually. good luck.

Felecia Burnett says:

ok so all of that has checked out….now, how can I find out where the heater box/blend door actuator is located in my saturn….cant find anything on line.

Autotechviewpoint says:

for the heater core, if it is plugged you can feel a real difference in the temperature between the two heater hoses going to the heater core. thermostat issue may be more noticeable with the temperature gauge not reading in the usual range, will read low if it is stuck open.

Felecia Burnett says:

Yes its full and No it doesnt change…….also the coolant “leveler” isnt working, could this be part of the problem, if so how do I replace it? Other wise how do I flush the heater core? Where should the hand be on the therm gauge? Have to check everything, cant afford a mechanic!

Autotechviewpoint says:

1st make sure that the coolant is full. Low coolant will cause heat issues. T-stat is most likely the problem then. Does the temp change at all when moving controls in the car?

Felecia Burnett says:

Thank you soo much for doing these videos, they have really helped……How do you know if the heater core or the thermostat is the problem? My daughter purchased a 02 saturn L300 in Sept and the heat blew hot..now its not…how do I know for sure which problem it is ???!!!

TitanBobL says:

In the old days, heater core replacement was pain. Your video helped alot. My passenger flooris very wet but I’m thinking that there’s a leak at he o ring(s). I don’t see any wetness around the outside of the core. Maybe I’ll get lucky…

Autotechviewpoint says:

I checked my information system and it looks like yes the same procedure.

Autotechviewpoint says:

sorry nope, if i ever “get to” do one, it will show up here.

Autotechviewpoint says:

Well if you open up the connectors to replace the o-rings fluid is going to come out. It is all up to you how much fluid you want flowing all over. Just top off what you loose , no you do not really need to replace all the coolant in the system, if that is what you meant.

Im about to remove mine on my 99 SL, i should have done this during the summer now its 27 degrees outside!

SomeDude0nline says:

Yeah I got it after a while, I ended up going to pick’n’pull and tearing the plastic crap that remained out of my way lol, which allowed me to see a metal brace supporting the aluminum hoses on the inside. I did have one hell of a time getting those demonic hose clamps on the outside off though lol.

Autotechviewpoint says:

Sorry to get back to you late, hope you got it. Assuming you took heater hoses off the other side. 🙂 As far as I can see on the picture i have, once you are at the heater core, ya just one little plate from below holds it in place. May just be stuck from being in there a while. good luck.

SomeDude0nline says:

I’ve got a 99 SL any clue how the heater core is connected in there? as far as I can see there is just a little plate screwed to plastic supporting it so I undid that and it still feels like it’s in there pretty solid

Autotechviewpoint says:

Should just be a couple clamps under the hood, undo them and use a screwdriver and wedge it between the pipe and hose to work it free.

alwesker1 says:

I have the same problem how do I unhook the pipes outside the step before this
