Loosen the 4 10mm bolts holding the rear bracket to the engine and it will help line up the the holes for the compressor mounting. It worth the few minutes to loosen that rear bracket.

Zxc Vbn says:

How do you tell how much oil is already in the system to avoid adding too much?

Thanks for the Super Great Video. Charged the A/C on my 1999 Saturn SL2 this weekend and having your video to watch really helped me out. Love the Positive Vibe that The Astral Stars promotes on Youtube. I have been banning the Negative folks on Youtube for quite sometime myself.

A shop replaced a shrader valve and recharged refrigerant for my 95 SC2. A/C was cold and worked for only 1 Day. Next week they quoted me … $920 to do exactly what you have shown in the video.. so. May be taking a shot at doing this! Question .. how much will a Brand New Compressor/ unit cost and where should I be buying it from?

Ciprian Danscoi says:

Great video and educating youth A question: how much exactly PAG 100 Oil has to be added? I found the new one Interdynamics Certified A/C Pro R-134a PAG 100 Refrigerant Oil With ICE 32 (8 fl. oz.) I couldn't find the exact match you showed. How much I have to add? On the bottle, it's saying Exact Fit for your 1998 Saturn SL Series Compressor Lubricant; 24.00 Oz. R-134a; 5.00 Oz. PAG-100

Jackson Cruz says:

Thanks for the video. Seems easy enough to access everything. Shouldnt this car be charged by weight? This is what I found from TechChoice parts website…………..1997-2002 All Engines R134a 24.00oz PAG 100 5.00oz

Robert Chavez says:

How do u know if the new ac compressor has oil already

memyself says:

Thank you for the great video, and I know it's a lot of work to make them. I enjoyed seeing your apprentice. Question, I didn't see you pump the air out of the system before you added refrigerant. I thought it was required that you pump out the air. Thanks for answering.

Ad Mirer says:

Excellent video-do you recommend one of those chinese made compressors? 85$ on eBay-are they any good? I have been warned against rebuilt compressors (Scotty Kilmer is against them).

Shawn B says:

Great video, have to replace a water pump on 1998 SL2, do you still have to put it on jacks a pull off the Rt tire to get to this? Can everything be done just by removing the A/C Unit? Got the pump, thermostat, couldn't find the spray for the gasket but got "Permatex Red RTV high Temp Gasket Maker", they had no tack spray. To get easy access to the thermostat I guess I have to remove the AC Unit. I don't have stands or a hydrolic jack and don't want to buy it. Can I do the entire job with just this procedure? Thank you for your response…great video:)
