Saab 9-5 Evap System Repair (Upgrade)

Here is a quick and easy evap system upgrade for you saab 9-5’s.
Main symptoms for the bad valves and lines is a low boost so we will fix that.
Also you can use it for your other cars to fix evap leaks and get your car to full boost again!
Just follow simple instruction in the video: First you have to remove the old lines with one way check valves.
It can be hard so take your time.. Next measure and cut your new 6mm inner diameter silicone hose.
Replace the lines and don’t forget to CHECK non return valve SIDES! Air should come to the throttle body side and turbo side.
Do a quick test drive to check if everything ok and enjoy your fixed saab! Also there is bolt mod but this is a better solution.

Parts needed: 1,5 Meters silicone hose 6mm inner diameter, 2 fuel non return check valves, clamps.

Can explain in what direction the valve have to install, because that is very important.

Richard Bauermeister says:

You are better to use new fuel hose as silicon hose can sweat oil and degrade if used in systems which might be contaminated with oil or petrol vapour.

I have an 07 93 V6 with the stock plastic one. So, you're saying I can swap that stock cruddy plastic garbage with this metal one? Thanks in advance.

Chicago UI says:

Hello, great video! I’m going to do this because I have repaired all the usual low boost issue suspects already, DIC, plugs, vac lines etc. also replaced IC hoses. I hope this fixes my base boosting 95.

You’ll also need 9mm hose as well a 3/8in to 1/4in hose reducer. Otherwise the hose that goes from the T towards the throttle body will close on itself. It’s blowing towards the intake so it creates a vacuum and 6mm hose flattens out and shuts. You’ll see what I mean when you’re doing the job.

Eddie says:

Hello Sir! Does this also apply to the 2009 9-3 ?

tryto guesss says:

I can tell u that you can delete the pipe what goes from T to BPC turbo valve. So from Turbo valve directly to intake. And from throttle body directly to evap purge solenoid, with a ventil between it. Like T8 system was done. So its a upgrade

Chris Bartkowicz says:

Thank you for video. which way do check valves go for flow?

Valerey D. says:

Hello there from USA! I've got a very similar car to yours, mine is a 2004 SAAB 9-5 Aero Wagon Automatic. I've also got a similar problem which you are describing here. When I have my car in manual mode, going about 60 or 70 mpg, I floor the throttle but I don't always get the maximum boost. I have checked the check valves by pulling out the pipe you removed and thy are fine, they work flawlessly. I have replaced boost controller that you pointed out in your video, it helped a lot but still no max boost every time. I also replaced SAAB Boost Control Valve (T7) (BPC) 55557331 but it didn't help anything. All my vacuum lines are new. Gas is 92 octane always. Mass Airflow Sensor is new. New Air filter installed also. I'm still looking to figure out the gremlin in my system.

How is your car doing thus far? Do you always get full boost with your setup? Thanks.

Great video. Should we add zip ties to the shopping list?

Smoofe says:

Check valve diameter is 10mm you need silicone hoses 8mm inner diameter to fit a 10mm check valve.

prospector mike says:

this was very helpful. thank you. i was curious if you could do a video showing how the wastegate controller and the boost bypass vacuum location? i own a 2000 saab 9-3.

JAYUNOAH Findlater says:

Great job with replacing the tube and explaining, does anyone know where I can get the blue hose to replace mine please let me know in the usa.

Lost Potential says:

Would this get rid of the p1181 cel I already replaced the vacuum lines and still have the cel.

Orencio Medina says:

On the video at minute 232, do I get rid of that t-connection and follow the black from that comes in from the bottom of the T to get rid of the second part of the hose?

Orencio Medina says:

Can one of you clarify which line I can delete? I assume ti's not the line segment that connects to the throttle body. So how do I cap off the end where the other line segment came from? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My Saab 9-5 2005 45,000 miles has issue with keys wont lock car i synced it manually, works great but then stops again when i leave car dont think i saved it once got in program mode. Could it be the receiver box not the one around the ignition tho or could it be ignition, the car knows the doors are shut ie the door switches the radio turns off when pull key out ignition, door locks work fine ?? Please no one can figure this out,ANY question welcome p.s tanks for the video really.

FAH QUE 2 MOFO says:

If you plan on doing this I would advice routing the hoses like on 06 onwards 9-5 by connecting the cobra directly to the APC, you only need one check valve this way.
