Saab 9-5 Cup Holder

I was at the Auto Show and I thought the cup holder in the 9-5 was cool.

too bad the piece of isht doesnt work. do you know how much coffee i have
dumped on my lap due to that damned cupholder?

sweetpink says:

@lowincash you can put 100 strong man on that!

Furrowbrow says:

I think it must be an American thing. You almost never see Europeans using
cupholders, for some reason. I guess those guys do longer road trips.

yellofury says:

@quwers the one in the 9-3 is crazy too

Chad Racelis says:

loving it that u put up a video for a cup holder 🙂

DiegoAngelus86 says:

There “should” not but *could* be a two-cup cupholder in the rear armrest
since it is an option.

serruchero says:

ill have to buy a bigger phone,it fells off if i try it XD

jrodigan5 says:

theres another cuphoder under the armrest in the center consol that is
deeper and actually useful. I’m terrified to put anything in the pop-out
cup holder on my 9-5, so i avoid having drinks in my car. lol

aaaaplay says:

Holden a GM subsidiary used it in the VY-VZ Commodore.

capitalistpigdogus says:

@lowincash As long as you don’t grab and wrench it, breaking the little
locking gear, it works great. The one in the 9-3 is a lot more awesome in
action, though.

quwers says:

It has to be said that this is the sickest cup holder in the world. If ever
I’m bored I’ll just play with it for a bit. It’s so amusing.

serruchero says:

thats fine for americans, who live in their cars.i prefer to stop into a
service station and enjoy a cup of warm coffee. 8 cupholders….i cant
imagine 8 people drinking in a car at the same time! XD

ansettnz100 says:

On most markets, the rear cupholders are standard for 2008 and 2009 (im not
sure about earlier models). I have recently descovered there is also a
cupholder in the box under the centre armrest for the front passengers!. I
didnt know that. So now the 9-5 2008-2009series can to my knowledge hold 4
cups.

2fat2kill says:

Sturdy enough, I would guess. I never actually used it.

RubiconJoey says:

They look cool, but don’t work worth a damn. After owning a 9-5 for over a
year now this is the most annoying part of the car I have found….They
aren’t very sturdy at all and nothing bigger than a coke can really fits…

2fat2kill says:

Yeah. I drive a 9000, so the one thing I don’t like about it is the absence
of cupholders. Seeing this spectacular one in my car’s replacement made me
feel happy. And envious.

KevL75 says:

And they eat a lot and need liquid to wash all those fucking burgers down.

Andreas Abrahamsson says:

who the fuck gives a shit abaut the cup holder!?

peterhejlejensen says:

It’s Swedish!

mihkeltt says:

it easily holds a half a liter bottle.

tortilla1soup says:

Can anyone tell me how to turn on A/C in my 2001 SAAB 9-5 wagon?

autodog221 says:

its makes up for the other cupholder being retarded.

lowincash says:

wow that’s neat. how sturdy is it?

Lucas Ericsson says:

My dad has a 9-5 but he never uses the cupholder haha

ansettnz100 says:

If you own a 9-5 there should be 2 more cup holders in the armrest of the
rear seat.

spitfirejunky4 says:

Do you really think im going to put a cup in the back seat when im driving
the car.

jrodigan5 says:

I put my phone and/or Ipod in that holder.

ansettnz100 says:

hmmm, the last sentence could be taken out of context!

DiegoAngelus86 says:

When a cup is arge ? What does that mean ? 😛 I can fit just about anything
in my front cupholder, even the biggest cups from McD but then again this
is Sweden and not oversized USA 😉 There are more cupholders in the car if
you want them, you have one in the lid of the front armrest and then there
is two in the rear armrest. The one in the back is an option so not all
cars have it. And besides, you can go to saab and buy an insert for the
front armrest that makes it another cupholder.

ansettnz100 says:

iss not that sturdy but it holds those cardboard expresso coffee cups well.

ansettnz100 says:

This is the same as the cupholder in the 9-7x
