I Just did the procedure you perfectly expose on this video, so thankful for your amazing help, have a question: behind the passengers seat is also floated , and I mean 1/2 inch over the carpet, I inspected some other areas on the car of potential liking , is it possible that all this water came from also from the fan vent? Thank you in advance, amazing vids you are producing, I'll be checking one by one! Arthur

Excellent explanation!

Bloody brilliant!!! We just had torrential rain here in Massachusetts and my footwell was like a swimming pool! It has never happened before so I watched your awesome tutorial. My drain was completely clogged and water was backing up into the cabin filter. Thanks for the clear and concise instructions. I did quick vaccum and cleaning and I am planning to replace the nasty cabin filter.

Cool solution to a pesky problem. I've had to replace my blower motor before and I think it's because of moisture fouling the motor by way of the cabin air filter, so sealing this up will hopefully prevent that from happening again.

Perfect video and everything needed to know to keep the dreaded water out. Even if it's not leaking I think it's best to do it, because sooner or later with the age of the 9-3 it will leak. And it's the perfect time and weather at the moment.
I've just finished doing this job, my tips- use a old credit card type scraper to get the worst off, finish the rest off with lighter fluid on a cloth ( easy work) I used double sided glazing foam tape 12mm x 4mm, adhesive on both sides. Must be at least 4mm thick as the filter housing is slightly recessed. (4mm is ideal) With the same fitting procedure as Cyd. ( Good tip – keep the final join at the bottom of the filter housing) Do a few practice fittings before taking the outer tape off to do the final fit. Once that foam tape as touched down it will be for life believe me. No need for any silicone with double sided quality glazing tape. Cheers.

Bought a new cabin filter holder and reinstalled as water runs down bulkhead as original
Seal gone on cabin filter – can take off and reseal
Great work as ever !
Think cabin filter holder was about £29 from Saab Tec Welwyn Garden – had to get from Sweden
Brilliant video thank you as ever
Hope you didn’t mind me adding my little bit ?

Good job 🙂

VS TV says:

They didn't design it very well. I take it that's why most cabin filters in cars nowadays are located inside the footwell

Kris Nicholson says:

Behind the wings, water channels full of mud and debris. Cabin filter leaking/collapsed.
