I have a question sir. Is it possible to install a custom dvd double in dash into my 2006 saab 9-3 2.0T

TheMusiMemmeke says:

gaielleable says:

I just bought a 2004 SAAB 9-3 convertible. I would like to upgrade the car with a gps and an aftermarket stereo. What items would you recommend? Thanks!

John Scholz says:

Thanks much for the video as now with saab being bankrupt and no dealers available doing stuff myself is becoming a necessity. I replaced the cup holder in my 2006 Aero 9-3 Convertible. It took me 10x longer than you did as I expected but I did it. I couldn’t disconnect the radio or climate controls but I was able to complete the project without doing that fortunately.

Vincent Mokebo says:

Can I follow the same dash removal procedure to replace the dash lights? Where are they located?

lastcall170 says:

You look educated on saabs. I have a 93T conv. 2006. I have some button/lights blown out on the radio display. Is there a way to replace the bulbs? Do I need to take the radio apart/out? Thanks.

Jose Medina says:

is there a difference with the navigation?

purestrawberrypwnage says:

congratulations

edgyone says:

I have a 2003 9-5 3.0t with a harmon kardon audio that won’t make sound. The fuse on the head unit was changed and that got it to light up, but the sound still won’t come out, I am thinking that it may be the amplifier but would like to know if there are any other easy tests or fuses to check first. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Michael Solomon says:

wicked awesome

450o054 says:

have u got aux working yet?

gocosf says:

Thx for the vid .

n10tan1gam1 says:

quick question, I am going to fix my radio, it recently stopped working (it’s a long story) but do I have to waste my time removing the MCC to get to the radio?

Adrian Motyka says:

I was wondering if there was anyway to put in Aux. I’m a little tired of using the FM converter, as it doesn’t look very good. Thanks.

steprat says:

My boss broke mine thinking it would help him out of my car. This video made replacement of it so easy. Saved me about $150-175 installation.

hehaheadshot97 says:

Is there a way to hook up subs to the stock radio?

volcomXdiamond says:

where are you from?

Mad Morrigan says:

No it is slightly different.

Mad Morrigan says:

Go to this website. Its a well respected Saab dealer that also has a wholesale parts website.
Saab USA Parts

Mad Morrigan says:

Technically you should have it properly programmed to your specific car. But you can just plug it in and it will work.

TheAbhinavonliner says:

Great video, just replaced my ACC climate control panel while watching your video on my iPad. Thanks a ton!!!
Just a question, my amplifier under front passenger seat(Saab 9-3 2005) is all corroded. I’ve found a replacement from a scrap yard but would it need to be installed using TECH-2 or would it be case of simple ‘plug & play’.
Much appreciate if you could help me with your excellent knowledge.

walperstyle says:

What is the part number for a strong replacement for one of these? Reason i ask is I want to install something like this in a different car all together. Thanks for any info!

52cardpickup says:

Hello where did you get your windshield tools you specifically used? I bought some nylon pry tools set and it does rub the soft touch at the edge.

Also Its not easy at all to get into the seam and I feel like it may break. Are these things that sturdy? In the video you do it with such ease. Any additional tips?

I’m trying to get at the ICM unit so I only need to remove the vents.

chrisgunnphotography says:

I have a 2008 9-3. Is this the same design? Repair technique?

nandrade20 says:

hi there, I have 2003 saab 9-3 arc and I would like to know if i would be able upgrade my stock radio with that of a 2003 93 vector or better ? will the wire harness be the the same ?
the display on my radio has lines running through, seems like the light are burned out and it looks tacky. what do you suggest i do if im not able to do so ?

hakewyt says:

Anybody has a 9-3 from this generation? I would really like some advice about this car. I mean, I ‘ve noticed that on the display you can see an average fuel consumption but not an instant one. Is it possible to see the instant fuel consumption on this car?

teeter986 says:

kbj7000 says:

Awsome Video…took me about 5 minutes to replace, after watching the video!

jsilva232 says:

just replaced the cup holder in about a half hour…thanks good vid

Mad Morrigan says:

In regards to an aftermarket stereo. You can but of course it looks horrible and may lead to problems. Also it won’t be easy.

Any sports sedan (03′-06′) can easily add a ipod/mp3 player audio aux. jack. It goes into the back of the radio and ends in the center console under the arm rest. It is just a simple cable harness that you run inside the center console.

NOTE: You must go to a dealer to at least program your radio to enable the AUX to be recognized. Or else it will not work.

stevewlu says:

thanks so much for posting this! Saved me a fortune! It was surprisingly easy, start to finish about 10 mins!

akghillie says:

can you put in an after market stereo in a 2004 ?

Dexter Richardson says:

do you have a video of how to replace the fog lights??

John Mecholsky says:

Wow, Andy you make it look so easy. I was worried that I would have to shell out some dough to get my cup holder fixed, but thanks to you I was able to tear into the dash myself. As a bonus it turns out my cup holder was just jammed up. I fixed it, put it back together, and now I am good to go. THANK YOU! Please post more.

mikemlm12 says:

What tools did you use to remove the air vent? Can I just use a credit card?

capitalistpigdogus says:

Thanks for the heads up. I was trying to find cheaper-than-OE bulbs, but that seems like more work than it’s worth. Of course, only the one bulb from 75+ is out, so I can pretend I’m in night mode until I get up to speed. 🙂

Mad Morrigan says:

Just about. The only differences are quite obvious with the updated radio unit.

Mad Morrigan says:

Yes, the bulbs are replaceable. They are of course special bulbs that you would have to get from the dealer. I would replace the majority of them because just being in there can cause others to fail. But we have just replaced the bulbs that were out with no issues.

Dena Vedaa says:

This is very well done! I have a 2007 Saab 9-3 and need to replace the cup holder. Can you tell me if the procedure is the same?

capitalistpigdogus says:

Wow forgot to respond for months. Yes, my 2K 9-5 has bulbs out in the MIU. Is there any way I can take the beast apart and replace dead bulbs without causing issues – or am I stuck getting a new remanuf/refurb cluster?

Thanks!
