HELLO EVERYONE, I know this is kinda random. Recently got my car wrecked,
long story short took it into a rapair shop. Told them to fix anything
wrong with internally and my front bumper. After pick up car looked then
all of a sudden same day as i picked it up i had peanut butter in my Oil &
I got my RADIATOR HOSE FIXED SINCE THAT WAS THE ONLY THING WRONG. Do you
think they could’ve tampered with my thermostat
when replacing my radiator hose ?

Denis Faust says:

thanks, that will help to find it on my truck……

PRODIGYofW4R says:

I promise you this was not a ford!

Bobaganush26 says:

He didn’t even mention the jiggle valve, aka air bleed valve. Little bitty
valve in the thermostat. The jiggle valve has to be aligned with the stud
bolt up to a 10% tolerance, sometimes 5%.

lupe1145 says:

“Great fuckin video Bro”!! Thankz

Turco949 says:

What did you expect, the video is only 2:29!

Jorge Perez says:

I know Richard I was waiting for that part also lol

Richard Stewart says:

You didn’t show putting the gasket on before or after installing the
thermostate.

bighardballs says:

so your supposed to fill up the plastic reservoir with coolant also?

Mark Edwards says:

only if your thermostat is stuck closed (which won’t let coolant get
through to the engine, so you’ll overheat) rather than opening up when your
engine gets to operating temp.

Clesarie says:

Jesus what engine bay is this. This thing looks amazing to work on.
Everything is in a great location.

Melissa Elgersma says:

If you don’t find the thermostat where the upper radiator hose connects to
the engine, try the lower. That’s where mine was. Great video- once I found
the thermostat, it took about 30 minutes to change it out. Appreciate the
money saved!

bartontuckyman says:

Yes thats what this video is showing. You dont need to replace the whole
housing unless that is bad itself.

bartontuckyman says:

He is just explaining how to change the thermostat I have a saab 9-3 and I
even figured out how to change the thermostat on it by using this video.
Find your upper radiator hose follow it to the engine thats your thermostat
housing unscrew an so on an so on. He dont have time to listen to you cry
cuz he didnt use your make and model car to make this video. And dont act
like your higher intellect and know how to work on cars, cuz you typed it
in and came here just as I did.

originalhistory says:

Now that’s concise.

Juan Romero says:

Lumina Thermostats are a pain in but to get to. You have to remove the
throttle body and it looks like you have to work around the exhaust
manifold. Any suggestions?

galaxyblade says:

This one is MUCH better than the expert village one! Turbo channel FTW!!!

Froggybomb says:

fuck the home depot. fuck advertising on youtube.

qwerter92 says:

Ya, this video makes it look simple enough, time to replace mine tomorrow
just like mikkky1234.

ACEGAMER120 says:

Well it depends on what kind of car you have. Most mechanics look up the
labor time listed in whatever book/program they use and then multiply that
time by their flat rate. If your thermostat is in a hard to reach place and
requires removal of other components, the labor cost will go up fast. Of
course, if it’s a small private shop, they could just be ripping you off.

Kim Caldwell says:

Very easy to understand, even for a lady.. Im not super women either Thank
you very much

TheRob916 says:

Be careful on some, the thermostat must sit in the groove, I use a little
rtv to hold it, if its not seated properly it can crack the housing…then
u got another part to buy on a relatively easy repair…

customthree says:

he forgot to install the gasket…oops!!
