Perhaps silly question: how do the new LEDs affect your brights? Does it just make them super duper bright? Debating on installing them on my 900!
No mo jiggly jiggly….lol
Now you don't get to enjoy the humorous jiggling of the beam with every bump in the road!
I bought the same set you put in your NG on the previous video and they work great, so I'll be off to find a set of these for the 9000T!
ive been contemplating doing an upgrade like this on my 2001 9-3 but the car was driven by an old man so they are super bright even tho they are halogen bulbs so i havent seen the value
WBO 278 is a 9-5 sportwagon in Sweden!!
Your headlamps are DOT US Spec lamps.
They suck. What you did, though, is irresponsible, and dangerous.
Why?
Because DOT spec lamps have very poor beam control unlike the EU spec lamps.
EU spec lamps have a different lens (which are glass), and sometimes even have a different reflector which control the beam much, much better. They do not blind on-coming cars, and provide far superior side light beam which illuminates road signs on the right (left in RHD cars).
Now, by putting LED bulbs in the DOT lamps the glare will become much worse for the on coming traffic, and many people will think you are driving with your high beams on.
That is irresponsible, and dangerous.
If you were in Europe, the cops would pull you over in no time, and remove your license plate, until you remove the LED's.
Your only way to get more light out there is to replace the US spec lamps with EU spec types, and use the 55w quartz halogen or quartz iodine bulbs.
Makes me miss my 900’s! So does Bevinsee have LED’s that work in a 2005 9.3? Can’t seem to find reliable info and tried two different sets which did the CANO blinking thing.
DONT PUT LED IN HALOGEN HEADLIGHT!!!! If you do hope u get stopped… you are blinding everyone…. 🙁
You can't have a new reg plate on an old car. Looks wrong
Thanks for the video. The snow mobile bulbs the 900 take are pretty dim for sure and the LED's you installed look amazing.
Unfortunately bevinsee's site won't let me start my search by country so I can't even get started.
3D printing is AMAZING, but I'm always hesitant when it comes to replacing car parts with 3d printed. Like you said that one white clip broke when installing it, I think likely 3d printed parts won't last as long as OEM. Sometimes there's no choice, like for this situation here…
I'm really looking forward to fiberglass reinforced prints, I find that the fiberglass reinforced plastic bits of cars hold up way longer than abs or whatever other types of plastics.
LEDs are cool, but I really desperately wish they'd offer them in 2700K, maybe 4000k. 5500K is just too blue, and 6500 is unbearable. I did a xenon retrofit on my OG 9-3 with 4000k, that was about as "white" as I ever wanted lights to be. Anymore I just stick with the bulbs because I find the nice glow of halogen is easy on my eyes… also color reproduction is amazing with halogen. Xenon and LED are often like 65% which means things look really muted and washed out, it can make a difference when spotting things on the side of the road.
I've been wanting to upgrade my 900 to LEDs. Their site doesn't seem to be cooperating tho
amazing thnx! are flatnose headlight the same parts or did they change things between flat and slant?
gotta look further into this. By the way, Autopsy i am currently doing a crazy projekt on my own saab 900, i am swapping the instrument cluster from a saab 9000 into my saab 900
for some reason the bevinsee site won't let me select the country to enter the car. what was the specific bulb model they sent you?
I hate repair jobs where you have to destroy things to do the work – it's a scary "well, no going back…" feeling. But great fix
Replaced the US DOT with E-codes and LEDs on my 91 SPG. Vastly improved night driving.
