My 2010 9-3 2.0T had the exact same situation last night. The speedometer
handle shaking, clock flashing, double clik, and HIDs turning on itself.
More interesting, the doors locked very slowly and yellow light flashed in
a slow motion (looks like being frozen). It was only 55 degrees, very cold
in Louisiana at this period of time. This vid has made me very happy, cuz
it’s just battery weak.

THANK YOU!! This video was exactly what I was looking for 😀 This is
exactly the issue I’m having: my 2005 Saab 9-3 convertible turned out to
have a bad battery and everyone was telling me it was starter solenoid or
the starter. Replaced by a good one this week… I chose to go with the
more powerful battery for the extra cold-cranking amps. I couldn’t have
asked for a more perfect video. I didn’t see batteries on your site but I
have a couple other little repairs needed soon so it’s bookmarked

Remember! Disconnect the negative first, then the positive. Swap out
battery. Then connect positive first then the negative last. This avoids
any chance of a short when working with your tools round the battery.

why does ir do that?

Wish we knew, any Saab engineers out there want to take a crack at this
one? I imagine it is to protect the electrical system from fluctuations in
voltage but that is just a guess.
