I’m about to go try this on my mustang, I”m glad I didn’t call out for
repairs with my warrantee before seeing this video.

David Crews says:

Excellent instruction that even this non-mechanical person could follow.
Re-insert the plug with a philips screwdriver, Placed screwdriver in hole
at top of the plug then insert and wiggle in, Thanks!

425chevelle says:

i have a 2003 mustang and the top has no problem going down but coming back
up it blows a fuse everytime. it does work when some of the load is taken
off by assisting it up. would this shorting of the fuse be caused by the
electronics being triggered by air and not hydraulic fluid in the
cylinder?

sam stevens says:

will this formula work on a 2005 mustang GT?

gonzalo garcia says:

What could be wrong with my covertible top motor it worked fine to me it
went up slowly and same thing when it came down and then it stopped working
all I get it a clicking noise from my relay switches and nothing from the
motor?

LaDell Day says:

Hey I have an 2001 Mustang v6 and did the refill and got to the part to
lift up the top and the button/switch was a little sticky at first but then
began to lift the top slowly then it stopped I then began to press down and
it went down tried to press up again and the motor does not make a sound
nor lift the top.

Jesavel Martinez says:

Pattiann Jones says:

AWESOME!! I just bought a 2000 Mustang convertible. I didn’t have it home
one day before the top wouldn’t go up. Thanks you VERY much for your video.
A quick trip to the store for fluid and she is working like a charm! Your
instructions were right on the money…easy fix…but no way could I have
done it one handed!

Hasheem Whitmore says:

I have a 2000 mustang, which had similar problems struggling to go up.
Mechanics said it was my top cylinders which where leaking. I replaced the
cylinders today and now my top doesnt move at all. New cylinders sound like
there leaking now. What could be the issue? Should I try to refill the
motor or does this sound like something more needs to be done? I appreciate
the help

Paul Dunsford says:

if it,s like saab theres a run off tube by hydraulic ram,s if your losing
oil look under rear suspension struts that,ll be where drain point is

Matt Davis says:

Thank you so much!!! I had my top working in fifteen minutes and that’s
removing the seats too. I hate driving into a dealership in my Mustang.
They always come out smiling real big and showing off those pointy teeth.

racefan62465 says:

Thanks so much, Helped with my wife`s new mustang,
Your video was the best.
I did learn the 4 rubber grommets were easier to press on with rubbing the
same fluid on the grommets before pressing on
Thank-you again. Ours works great!!!

Richard LaRonde says:

This is Rick’s wife, and you just saved us $800 or actually $795 – had to
pay for the fluid. WE, Rick and I, we followed your video exactly, and
were able to replace hydraulic fluid in the motor, and that fixed the
motor, just as you said. It was a good feeling that (1) we could fix it
and (2) we saved so much money, Your video is an excellent training/fixing
tool. Thank you so very much. You saved me that $795, so Black Friday
here I come.

Alice Lam says:

I have a 1998 Mustang. My top doesn’t seem to open or close when it is
extremely hot day. Do you think it could be the motor?

MasterMindAlliance says:

Hey would Jack oil work just as well?? please respond!!!

howyoucandoittoo says:

It wouldn’t hurt to try it if you can get to it. The principle is the same
and hopefully all it needs is recharged and bled the same way.

DconGamingXbox360 says:

Thanks alot for very good instructions

metalinkin82 says:

My top won’t go down or up, what do you think it can be?

Nichole Rush says:

I did this one month ago and my top was working great. Then it stopped
working again :/ . Is it possible my lines were just that dry it needs
refilled again? Or maybe I have a leak somewhere?

Steffen Wainscott says:

My 02 Mustang GT Motor went down just fine but now it does neither,up or
down. Stuck right now in down position. Is that still the fluid level or
could the motor/pump have gone out?

Rainewoman7 says:

GREAT VIDEO!I only wish we’d found this video BEFORE we refilled our top
motor…we unwittingly put the plug in after we put the new fluid in the
motor, BUT failed to do the bleeding the air out of the system part first.
Unfortunately, the air pressure caused the fluid to bust out of the
cylinder and now we have to fix that. 🙁 Lesson learned tho.
