could you please post the name and model number of your milling machine in
a reply? I would really like to research it on line. I worked in a machine
shop for a short time as a younger man and sometimes wonder if I should
have stayed with it.

You noticed that there are 10 other videos about repairing the Porsche 944
in this channel, more will come soon, What in particular would be of
interest for you?

deme7063 says:

the head repair video was very impressive. you could make a great video
just of your milling machine. it looks old and sturdy, and worth its weight
in gold. I have never seen one like it before.

The normal service you may see in the video “Wartung”, The belts should be
replaced every 80000 km or 8 years, whatever comes first. This repair you
can see in the video on the water pump. A problem a the shoes of the chain
tensioner. Porsche give no interval what caused a lot of damages, You must
replace the shoes latest after 120000 km. In any case you should have look
on it. This was my fault, I bought the S2 and a few miles later the upper
shoe broke and I had a nice engine damage,

Excellent video. More please

if you are taking requests into consideration, I would be interested in
knowing how to inspect the S2 engine for wear issues such as timing belt
tension/condition, ect. I know you had a major issue with the cam chain.
Are there any signs that this is close to happening? how about signs that
the water pump is at its end?

Very Nice! Straight from Germany, too. Also love the pit. It’s the
traditional way to work on a Porsche.

The milling machine is a Optimum BF 16. Identical machines are also sold
under the label Quantum. It just depend if you buy it at a discounter or at
a specialized shop. If I would have to buy it again, I would take the model
BF 20. It is a little larger and the engine is stronger.Similar machines
are produced also from Wabeco. The price of my machine is now around 1000
Euro (1200 – 1300$). But be aware that you pay the same price again for the
accessories.

There are some video showing my milling machine as super star. Look for the
videos on the tool 233 or the video on the tank cap. In Germany, the
milling machine is more or less standard for education or small shops. I
think they still sell it more or less unchanged. The mechanics I had to
repair only once, but the motor electronics was failing three times in 10
years. And I had to replace one motor.
