Did they use some type of cradle or platform on the hydraulic jack to
steady the engine/g-box? The ’85 engine has a long, rectangular boss raised
from the bottom of the engine and not the flat, sump plate like the 3.0
litre engines. Just wondering if they used a cradle and if so, which is the
best to use.
A special Porsche cradle was used, which mounts onto the trolley jack. The
engine and gearbox then sit within that cradle as they are lowered. The
Porsche cradle has three parts to it and the Porsche part numbers are 9111,
9111/1 and 9111/2.
