In this episode I walk you through how to DIY upgrade any Porsche 996 ignition coils to a newer better version from the 997. This same process works for the newer 997 as well as the Boxster, turbos, ect.

Is the part number for coil packs work for the 3.6 engine?

Brandon Lee says:

How much would you say the cost would be to do this upgrade on a 996 C4S (parts and labor)? Watching your video is making me want to do this upgrade on my 2004 C4S Cabriolet. I'll just have to find a reputable garage that can do this for me that won't screw me over on the price.

One of your best videos yet! Coil packs are usually pretty resilient, but that torn boot + any kind of moisture or condensation could definitely cause that kind of issue. I chased a misfire for a while on the NSX that ended up being a bad coil that would ohm test fine when cold but packed it up when it got hot.
