Porsche 996 911 Oil Filler Tube Replacement DIY (Porsche 996 Carrera)

Porsche 996 911 Oil Filler Tube Replacement DIY (Porsche 996 Carrera)

►The Porsche 996 oil filler tube is a common point of failure on these chassis. So much so that it’s worth inspecting if you don’t know the last time it was replaced. Over time and countless heat cycles, the plastic oil filler tube becomes brittle and cracks at the section with the bellows.

Instead of waiting and finding a puddle of oil in your engine bay and underneath your car after you top up your oil, replace it before it fails.

In this DIY, Michael Hidalgo, FCP Euro’s resident 996 enthusiast, shows us how to easily replace the oil filler tube at home.

Great video
But you have made an easy job look very complicated by removing far more than needed

Ciscovip1 Walker says:

Why not remove the alternator to go get the oil tube out. Did it on my 996s4s

Ciscovip1 Walker says:

Why didn't you just remove the alternator to go get the oil tube. Did it on my car and it works
