Porsche 718 Stuck Fan Fix – DIY Quick Fix Step by Step

Alright, so it’s getting Cold and humid again, the fan for some reason decides to get jammed and stuck. This is how you quickly fix it. This happens mostly if it’s humid and cold and your car sits outside for a while without being driven. No tools required. Just a simple thing anyone can do. Just be gentle on the clips to the airbox and do break the clips like I did lol

The clips to the Air box / Filter box don't move much, so just be gentle with them. It's enough if you just get them hooked off, they don't make any sound when they "Plug off". If they do, you most likely broke it haha.

Just done exactly as you've described on my 10 year old Boxster 981 and it did the trick. You are a legend!

You fixed my problem as well! Thanks for posting. I sprayed a small bit of WD 40 contact cleaner on it. We’ll see how long this holds up!

ty very much. i just needed 5 Minutes to fix the Problem. But i am still shocked how a Premium Car like a Porsche have such a Problem just after 4 Years. All my other Cars before ( BMW, AUDI, VW, Mini, Renault…..) never had such a Problem.

Awesome vid, just saved me a visit to the dealership so thank you!

Simon Bussey says:

Does anyone know a permanent fix for this? This only works until you leave the car parked up again for a few days and you're back to square one.
It gets very tiresome when it's cold and dark first thing in the morning and you just want to clear the windscreen..
