I realize this video isn’t about installing a license plate bracket. I checked your list of tutorials and didn’t see one. I’m not really interested in using a tow hook mount but I will as a last resort. My 996 doesn’t have one and my province requires one.
Hi, I know this video isn’t about license plate brackets but I was wondering if you have done a tutorial video on how to install one on front fascia where one has not existed. We’re required to have one in Ontario and my 996 is from a province where one isn’t required. I’m not really interested in using the tow hook mounting system but I will as a last resort.
Hi, What's the point of replacing the part if Autoglym plastic restorer milk does the job. I tried and my grey plastic turned black there. It didn't work only on front air intakes on both sides of a front bumper.
When disassembling, I noticed my electrical wires tuck behind rubber hoses, but during your reassembly your wires went in front. Not a big deal but just wanted to point that out.
Thank you! I ordered everything without realizing the washer nozzles were integrated into this piece. This gives me the confidence to go out there and finish the swap (and get the new cowl off my kitchen countertop). The new rubber gasket was also a major pain. Probably took 45 minutes of massaging it into the channel.
Great video! Just changed my windshield cowl this weekend and the guidance on removing the electrical connections was very helpful as they are difficult to separate. However, just like with the old cowl, the windshield washer spray is hitting the top underside of the hood and not reaching the glass. Is there any adjustment for this? I have a 2002 Boxster S.
Do you happen to know the part number for the rubber seal?
I started out thinking “why bother.” I use some stuff that makes it look black again. But seeing them side by side, I agree the new piece looks better. Even better than an old one cleaned up and reblackened or painted.
Hi Vu, great video. Regarding the video you did with the 986 shifter replacement, I'm wondering where you sourced the Boxster Red shift boot and handbrake handle. I have a white over red Boxster too. Want 'em!
I've used Wipe New in the past but that only last 6 months or so, this is a much better solution. Not sure why I thought it would be more of a PITA than this!
need more of these simple fixes to clean up my 996!
