How To Replace a Dead Battery on a Porsche 911 (997 & 987 Boxster / Cayman DIY)

It’s simple to replace a dead battery on a Porsche 911, Cayman, or Boxster. However, you need to connect 12V power to your car first, so you can open the frunk. From there, replacing the battery is as simple as it is on any other car. For more DIY content, check out https://www.ecarguides.com. More videos and link to parts below:

Any thoughts on lithium batteries? They are way lighter but way more expensive. Seen some people talking about them on Rennlist.

For reference, a great upgrade for a Porsche 911 is an AGM battery.

I have the battery out of my 04 BMW 760i in my 997. Now I can get away with only using the car once every 3 or 4 weeks. It fills all the space and the AGM battery recovers quicker from partial discharge. Before I went AGM I was always having to charge the battery even though it was a new one.
