Use Code PForum20 to get 20% discount on any PrecisionLED product. Note that I didn’t get paid to do this installation or review and I had to buy my own bulbs… but the PrecisionLED was gracious enough to extend this 20% discount to my viewers and followers….

In this video, I describe my experience changing the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense Next Generation D3S (6200K) HID Bulbs to the PrecisionLED Kepler D3S LED Bulbs.

I recently changed the OEM OSRAM (4200K) by the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense Next Gen, but wanted to convert to LED eventually. I found these LED bulbs from PrecisionLED specifically designed to work on HID projectors.

In addition, during the first bulb change, I removed the front bumper and headlights to be able to change the bulbs. Someone in the 718forum suggested an easier way through the wheel well. I demonstrate that method, which is in fact much easier and highly recommended when changing headlight bulbs in the 718.

Disclaimer, when I tested OSRAM the pavement was dry, when I tested LED the pavement was wet hence darker. Do not use pavement as comparison for brightness. You can compare lawn and other areas.

Nice find. Interested to hear if your car threw up any error codes? Makes me want to try on my Macan.

The LEDs looks the same as the OSRAMs, I’ve recently upgraded my ‘17 Macan GTS to OSRAM D2S and it’s a nice improvement but I think I would have to completely upgrade to the second generation headlights to have a significant improvement. I was really hoping swapping to LED bulbs like you did gives me the ‘modern’ light output but from your video it doesn’t seem like it is such an improvement. Thanks

Did you had to remove the hid ballasts?

I noticed your 4 LED daytime running lights are on even when your lowbeams are on. Did you do something to make that happen? My 718's bi-xenon DRLs automatically turn off when my low beams turn on. I would love to know how to make my DRLs stay on when lowbeams are on. Much appreciated and thanks for the video.

Hmm did something changed to newer Porsches? you should able to just pop the headlight out from the frunk? At least that's how it is done in 981 and 996

I am seriously considering buying a Cayman and have been researching for months. I try to do as much of my own maintenance on my vehicles as I can. My biggest concern is being able to do any work on these cars. Your videos are great and provide some really good information. Hope to see more content. Thanks! liked/subscribed
