You can use the plastic fork to remove the needle
I hope you went back in and cleaned up the scuff marks left by your finger nails. Next time, maybe try wearing some cotton gloves in conjunction with the use of an appropriate pry tool for the job (to avoid damage to the overlays). Otherwise, great work in presenting to the community just how easy it can be to modify and maintain our vehicles. Your videos are great, they actually provide a lot of value, so thanks for sharing!
So its not a GTS then?
Tommy, who are the companies to stay away from? Also, who makes the best white face out there?
The instrument panel needle is not working. What should I do?
How do you suggest replacing the gauge face for a 997 turbo?
I noticed you didn't clean the smudge (finger oil) on the black face. Tommy, you have a lot of patience to be doing this.
Nice work! Did you try to scan the QR codes to get replacement part numbers? May help anyone planning this mod to avoid buying a full cluster
Great video Tommy
Pretty darn cool! Any chance you’ll be doing something similar on the F80?
Proper mod, my guy. Keep the P car content coming so it pushes me over the edge even more.
I love that I watch these Cayman videos on how to do stuff to a car I don't even have lol
I wouldn't be happy with the greasy finger marks on the black surfaces. Wear some cotton gloves surely?
Just love it bro keep it up!!
I found it interesting that you said the mileage is stored in the gauge cluster. Wouldn’t that be one way for crooks to roll back mileage on these cars by buying the gauge from a totaled low miles 981?
nice!, looking good Tom!
Great mod! No need to use latex gloves? My fingers are super greasy due to $&@%# and would be afraid to leave oily prints on the tach/speedo.
Without naming brands, what did you NOT like about the aftermarket gauge faces that made them so awful?
