I’ll show you how to replace the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate on an aircooled Porsche 911. I’m upgrading to a lightweight aluminum pressure plate with a Power Clutch kit from Sachs (3000 961 101). This kit will remove about 4lbs of rotational mass from your engine/clutch assembly, and not only is the pressure plate lighter, but even the clutch disc itself is lighter. I weigh the components before installing, and walk you through the steps necessary to swap them out on your car. If you have any questions, please ask!

Join me as I stumble along rebuilding the drivetrain of my 77 Porsche 911S. To be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve never owned an aircooled car before this one, there’s a huge learning curve, and I’ve been avoiding this since I bought the car years ago. I can’t afford to pay 911 prices on things, so I’ll be doing as much of the work myself as possible.
