There are only 3 main bolts on each side of the top’s frame to unbolt, plus
a few connections to undo like the V-levers and a couple of screws. With a
helper to assist you in lifting the frame off/on the car, it should take
you less than an hour from start to finish. Source a 2003 or 2004 top and
frame. The 2005+ tops will not fit the 99-2002 Boxsters.
Just had my ’00 S’s window crack on me, so I’m looking at doing a whole
swap instead of just getting the top recovered. How long did it take you to
do it?
Correction: I meant that the 2005+ tops will not fit the 1997-2002
Boxsters. Only the 2003/2004 tops will work.
