Rust never sleeps. that is bad. I’m impressed with your willingness to try
to fix it. Thanks

MrComaToes says:

LOL No doubt about that! The Good the Bad AND the Ugly along with few
choice words for that rascal that ‘repaired’ her like that!

TheWreckingYard . says:

Yup, $550 for a replacement, so I’ll be doing what I can to save it.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks Rob

Ram Francisuk says:

I don’t believe they built these cars to last, they were kind of a
disposable toy for the well to do

TheWreckingYard . says:

Definately they shouldn`t be winter driven, I think that`s what killed this
one.

bonnieclyde100 says:

those cars dont seem to be designed to be driven in canada. you are
definetly determined .

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

scottsinfl says:

SAME SEAM SEALER THEY USED ON THE BENZ EVERY WARE IT IS THERE’S RUST

homotorsports says:

That`s some serious rust but you have it well under control

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks Tony!

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks Reuben, I’m looking at it as a stepping stone to working on the
vehicle I want to work on, I’ve said it before but I also look at this as a
learning experience

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

etj1085 says:

Part 2 you really should buy the restoration design repair panels. It would
save so much time!

rob gwinn says:

U do great work on those patches

builtrodewreckedit says:

I love your video’s and you do amazing work. I just keep thinking unibody
cars like this should not be rebuilt. Not when there this bad. The body
panels and door post damage are just too much. Its rusted on all four
corners hack repaired and you dont even know what else. I think you should
pull the motor and steering off and build a sand rail. Your chevy pickup
has structure because of the strong frame. The porche has structure from
bondo, rust and i think the glass is holding it together.

MrComaToes says:

Keep your chin up Brother, that car is going to be something you will never
forget! It’s kind of like one of those Russian nesting dolls… everytime
you open one up there is something else inside! The fact is it’ll be a good
and solid car when you are done AND you could put it on ebay with these
videos as a selling point! Just sayin! Never know, one of your subscribers
might want that baby. Keep up the good work, we are all watching!

Jim Rowlings says:

u will get it yes door post looks sprung

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks, post some videos of your project, I’m curious to see more.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

chevahaulic says:

looking good !

TheWreckingYard . says:

True, I’ll be buying some of the ones that will be too hard to form, like
the panel behind the door.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

cheftush says:

I think Triumph used the same type of seam sealer as Porsche 🙂 keep up
the good work

TheWreckingYard . says:

They were supposed to be a cheap porsche, probably a good indication that
porsche should only do high end cars 🙂

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks!

iceman22st says:

I think your choice of rotisserie mounts is great

Yaheuben66 says:

*flicks body filler on floor* “Gee, that’s inspirational…” Yeah, I had
said you were replacing 15%… 25%, maybe? Honestly, I don’t know how you
do it .. I have a significant emotional waypoint to pull me though the
tough spots on Louise… I must say, you have been sticking with this with
dogged determination.

Timetotinker says:

soldier on buddy, will get there………tony

Flashback's Garage says:

Looks like a treasure box! You need to do lots of patching there! Looking
real good afterwards. In my project car previous owner has used silicone as
seam sealer in his repairs.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks, I was seriously thinking of posting a link to the video playlist
when I sell it, nobody could say I held anything back.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks for watching

Eric Poirier says:

Nasty surprises, but i think you’re right about the door. You’re gonna make
this side look as good as the other i’m sure.

etj1085 says:

If I can give you any info or insight on 914’s let me know I was a the for
years back in the day!

lazellinspain says:

It is almost as if they intended them to rust. Great work.

etj1085 says:

Wow ! Is all I can say. I’m restoring a 72 914 myself. I intended to learn
how to weld on the car but quickly figured out what an amazing skill
welding is. I just got mine back from the welder so mine is rust free now
so let the body work begin for me. When I saw your car I was saying to
myself …..Dude this is a parts car!!!! But then I see the skill that you
have and I’m amazed at every Video! All of the work that you have put in to
this car, I hope it’s a keeper!

TheWreckingYard . says:

LOL, probably the same as alot of manufacturers 🙂

JohnCarey1963Jag . says:

wow, that’s amost as bad as my ’69 E-Type body! Rust Rust Rust.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Well probably more like they never gave any thought to preventing them
rusting. LOL

TheWreckingYard . says:

Yup, I pulled out a bunch of silicon around the driver side fender

TheWreckingYard . says:

Kind of makes you wonder why they bothered, thanks for watching!

TheWreckingYard . says:

Pretty rough alright John, I think I`d rather be working on that e-type 🙂

TheWreckingYard . says:

I haven’t given up on it yet, I do revisitthe idea of scrapping it
everytime I find rust in a new place, trust me in that if I believe it’s
unsafe I’ll send it off to be packaged.

TheWreckingYard . says:

Thanks, hopefully the most solid points on the car.

Cheator40 says:

Lots to go but I love your postive additude. You will get it done and good
as new.
