Simple troubleshooting test for classic car fuel gauge systems.

Simple troubleshooting test for classic car fuel gauge systems.

Here is a quick and easy test to help you troubleshoot your classic car fuel gauge not working.

The point of this test is to let you know if your wiring is good back to the sender.

If this test is successful, your issue is likely the sender itself. Which was my problem. If this test doesn’t work, then you have a wiring issue to the sender, gauge, or the gauge itself is bad.

Shorting the power causes sparks & heat. Really?

Switch on or off? When I ground my sending wire it goes to full. When I plug the sending wire back up and turn the switch on it goes to empty?

I noticed the wiring was frayed by the sending unit so I redid it but it still shows empty.
Very helpful simple video ,I’ve had issues with my needle reading empty when I just filled the tank.
