Pontiac HVAC Blower Fan Fun

I would HIGHLY recommend that you remove snacks and beverages from your computing area before watching this video. Furhead shows up in it…need I really say…

Furhead found the first comment under his Jeep seats. You can all stop
looking for it.

uxwbill says:

The only problem is, I don’t think Furhead grew up. 😉

uxwbill says:

A useful feature of the site would be to allow sub-titles. Therefore, we
will never see that feature.

uxwbill says:

I dunno, are you a lazy windbag without freedom of will to do as you
please? You may be surprised to learn that on a site known as Youtube,
there are many other videos to watch. You might like some of them better.
Try it! With 2,647 views (as of this writing) and 114 “like” votes, it’s a
pretty safe bet that some people liked or found it useful.

MAG315 says:

This video should be titled “Larry, Moe and Curly do auto repair.”

stealer0517 says:

wait…. how did i get here, i was browsing videos about computers and i
ended up here…. wtf google why are you suggesting the random-est things
to me

uxwbill says:

It has not yet been repaired.

Nick Daguanno says:

Any updates did you guys get it repaired?

marryann claritan says:

You don’t need ground

canadaeast says:

The laughter only encourages Furhead’s bizarreness….. hehe

Jake Da Snake Productions says:

best video you’ve ever made :B

Jacob1986 says:

you are right GM messed up their fan systems pretty badly in those years. I
assume bean counters in Detriot wanted to cut back. I have already replaced
my blower motor resister 3 times since I owned the car. The part is made in
Mexico and it gets burnt out. Tell your friend to also clear his windshield
cowl. Those leaves and crud get inside and kill those blower motors and
make the car smell.

uxwbill says:

It’s pretty heavily potted. I’m not sure it can opened without totally
destroying it. (I’m usually against potted circuits, as I see most of them
as little more than a way to prevent easy discovery of what a circuit does.
Yet in this case, the potting does make sense. It wouldn’t be good if the
fan sucked something up (water, metal flakes) that could short the naked
module out.)

Cute Neko says:

I have a Pontiac Grand AM. And i think i am having the same thing happening
with the blower. Only it still works fine and makes the car smell.

uxwbill says:

That question cannot be answered as asked! I, the Keykeeper and Furhead all
spoke in this video. I’m the one running the camera.

uxwbill says:

Fortunately, they come with a money back guarantee. Just open your computer
and retrieve all the money that you pushed in there.

uxwbill says:

Well, stuff doesn’t always come out right during “the spur of the moment”.
And you can’t reshoot stuff like this.

bizzarefurhead says:

Its a salivia song, which song are you talking about?

Buchoass says:

I’m looking forward to the continuation of this blower but, in the meantime
there is a hurricane coming through Long Island, I could send some of the
blowing your way to help that pesky blower. Funny video! Did fur head
recover the tools lol… ~Cheers~ B.Champagne

zx8401ztv says:

I so enjoy your great family bill, all fruit cases and so entertaining 🙂
Hope Bfh got his tools back. I would be an evil git and replace the wiring
with very thick stuff, to the motor and the B+ and earth to the module. No
supprise the module is dead as 14.6 Amps will make it toasty 🙂 Its a good
bet that the pass transistor is the only problem. It looked like one of
those mad days where everyone was on top form, i cracked up all the way
through lol.

uxwbill says:

I don’t know what they were, but I’ll ask. Maybe he will even post a
response here. Of course, I’m still trying to get him to upload that other
video (or let me do it).

bizzarefurhead says:

forever in neverland. lol

TheSpazModic says:

If carmakers want to cut costs, why do they sometimes use over-engineered
parts like that module? They would have been better off using an old-tech
resistor, and heavier gauge wire. They could have offset that by running a
short jumper to the firewall for the ground, as opposed to running a ground
through the harness.

uxwbill says:

Yes it SURE does. And it’s a lot of fun to drive. I usually
don’t bother with the premium gas. The ECM seems to adapt just fine, and I’ve noticed no real difference.

bizzarefurhead says:

Insanity, craziness or madness they all work.

Jacob1986 says:

no worries! I have owned the car since 2005 so a few resister packs are not
bad to replace. I know everyone with the Cavalier/Sunfire has this problem.
I think its a matter of a bad part design and bad location. I think what
happens is water gets into it and burns up the circuit. It might probably
get really hot in there during the winter.

bluetorch13 says:

I can’t stop laughing about the smoke signals! rofl

blazerlover25 says:

furrhead has had too much crack which is why he’s crazy btw surfing on a

weasel2htm says:

I’m pretty sure “Furhead Bakes a Cake” is up there too!

ToxicWaste says:

that’s the same plus as we use for our xenon kits on high beams and extra
lights.

uxwbill says:

Beer. Despite how he was acting, he was not drunk.

uxwbill says:

As shown in the wiring diagram that is visible in the video, yes. Every
major (and most minor) parts of a vehicle electrical system are protected
by fuses, circuit breakers (wipers, power windows, locks, seat movement
motors or heat pads) or fusible links. There is more than enough current
available from a car battery to perform welds or start fires.

Steven Lebbing says:

What Happend to the sits on Jeep why did Furhead take them out?

naterade21 says:

this is why i like manual fan controls

bizzarefurhead says:
