WHERE IS REPAIR PART?

Tim Brown says:

In regards to BLKWDWENT & denizac…… I have the same problem and would like more info. regarding the metra adaptor. I love my car but also got it from a non-pontiac dealer and they are offering to replace with a kenwood. Now would it be an option for me to keep my car radio and see if they can fix it, but also pay the charge for the re-keying??? Sunshine

WaLa BeatZ says:

hey bob, i have a 07 pontiac g6 gt is there, i want to know if aux outlet is on the back if the radio. would you know? plus i beleive speaker wires are loose in my fron two doors

KenpachiZarakiX says:

Wheres the repair part? This vid was a removal only haha

Music0tattoos0sex says:

Thanx for this video. U saved me 50$

denizac says:

I would not take that option, the g6’s have a DIC for oil life, tripometer data and other info, if you replace it you will lose that. Some use a metra adaptor which allows you to keep that with an aftermarket radio, but they too are kinda pricey, I would ask them to throw that in if you take the swap, otherwise you are losing on a car you just bought.

We quote repair rates on the website “CarStereoHelp”.

BLKWDWENT says:

Hello I have a CDs error displayed on my screen. I believe there may be something stuck in there. I just bought the car from a dealership other than gm. They can not fix and offered a replacement which is a Kenwood system at a car stereo store. Is this a good idea or should I tell them I want to keep the factory?

boblizcou says:

This does not sound like a common problem? Try a reset, disconnect one of the battery terminals for about ten minutes and reconnect. See if it comes back to working correctly.

donfelice29 says:

Hi Bob…When my car is off, the backlight of the radio and the clock flash on every 30seconds about. It drains the battery of the car overnight. Do you think this is a problem with the radio, or is there a short in the wires?

MrBuckybuckshot says:

Omg what a process i have a 09 g6 and want to add a sub and amp if this is what it takes to get to the back of the stock unit wow.

Never tried it… It should work if they are the same model.

cmealer1973 says:

How about just changing the faceplate out and not the radio will that mess with the vin?

DallasJavan3 says:

is there any way to fix a factory radio that wont suck in the c.d’s?

boblizcou says:

Harbor Freight.

toomark says:

Bob…. where do you get the small blue crowbar you use?

fubenpena says:

Ma car is the same year

fubenpena says:

Yea i have the same problem n I just took it out the lot n its just brand new

boblizcou says:

YES! The stereos are what is called, VIN locked. The dealership may charge up to $175 to unlock the stereo, if they are unable to unlock the stereo. Not all stereos are interchangable.

Tony Rico says:

Did I hear you right; if an OEM Radio is being inserted for the old one, it would have to be taken to dealership for them to assign it to the vehicle?

boblizcou says:

No easy task to remove the CD’s.

boblizcou says:

Sorry, we do no aftermarket installation. When we did, you had to have a plan, all vehicles are different with what you are given to work with.

Doofapotamus Doof says:

Where, in the 08 GT series, would you suggest placing an amplifier to power up a pair of 12″ Alpine type s subwoofers?
