you need the tool to dial them back in…if you wind up replacing the caliper make sure u get a new brake hose..believe t or not, sometimes a stuck caliper or a overworked caliper could be because of a bad brake hose or a Unlubricated slider system…
I think i only need pads & rotors for my 96 GP se. Can i use a C-clamp to get piston back in? or do i need a special tool to screw piston in? Piston in caliper, hopefully i dont need caliper.
sorry for the 2 day delay.. Check the cable if its freezing when you engage or Disengage the emergency brake.. have someone engage it, than release it while you are watching the problem wheel…Ive seen this happen before, and its usually binding cable line…do you feel drag when driving it? ..these cars are prone to rear caliper failure.. let me know how it works out
Your welcome. I try not to mae my videos too long but sometime si add thigns to my videos that people dont add.. Im glad I could help someone, thats exactly what my channel is here for. friend me and subscribe to me I got soo many new videos I have to put up ive been soo lazy..
Hey. thank for posting this video. I have a 1994 Grand Prix and I could not finger this out. . the manual only had how to do the front brake job .not the rear caliper ! I did all except changing the bake hose. my hose is good.. it was so easy after seeing your Video!! Thank Again!!
i think so.. I had a 2001 and they looked the same underneith.. only thing thats different on the 2001s from the 1996’s is that the 96’s had a monoleave rear suspension.. Yours has coil over struts in the back.. which in my opinion is better than the monoleaf.. they sag after time… But yea its should be the same
one note I’d add is that when your removing the bolt off the caliper for the brake line, your saying using a 12 point box end wrench, a 6 point box end or a line wrench will also work fine, infact I’d say preference would be 6 point instead of 12 point because it applies more pressure on the sides instead of the corners.
thanks
You do a Dame good video…. love all your video’s:)
thankyou, Im glad to of virtually hung around with you and saw you through the job lol!. gladto hear you got it done
Best vid yet. Feel like I’m talking to a buddy while working on my car. Simplistic and you cover all the main points. Good work.

How do you keep those wheels so clean? I have the same car, same wheels, GTP, but my wheels look like absolute shit
Thanx,I will rent it when i do job. The rotors on rear are barely being used(not a shiny rotor, just a sliver is)
