How to Replace Brake Pads and Rotors (DIY) Pontiac G6

Brakes are important for the safety of your vehicle.
Replacing and installing new brake pads and rotors. Replacing your brake pads is standard maintenance. You do not need to replace your rotors every time you replace your brake pads. It is a straight forward process. A couple of bolts and everything is off. The overall process is the same on most cars with disc brake systems. We did this on a 2006 Pontiac G6.

Tools:
-Ratchet Set
-C-clamp
-Flathead screw driver
-Rubber Mallet
-Lift
-Jack Stands
-Friend

Materials:
-Brake pads for your car
-Brake rotors for your car

You don’t always need to replace your rotors, but it can be easier to replace them than getting them churned if you have warped rotors.

Good tip on the funky retaining washers for the rotor. Didn't know they were there. Glad they can be clipped off.
