Great job in explaining the process , now I'm going to tackle the window motor/regulator in the driver's door of my 99 firebird

Stephen says:

You could do it without removing the regulator as well. Drill 3 holes on the inside panel in front of the motor mounting bolts/rivets with a metal hole saw. Then remove the motor bolts or drill the rivets and then remove the motor from the regulator while still in the door without having to remove the regulator. The spring will stay unloaded with the window up as you remove the motor and replace it without removing the regulator. Use self tapping screws that fit the new motor mounting holes if you don't want to fight with nuts and bolts.
