Thanks for watching, we currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Kelvin Cooper says:

Thank you for your time on the videos. I am hoping to find a vid on the REMOVAL of a leaking 1995 Cavalier radiator. All there is is the fan removal. Can you help me in any way, point me in a direction or get a vid 🙂 Thanks man

We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Thank you for your uploads so far. Would you be willing to do a video on how to change the timing chain on the Cavalier?

bnine says:

Thanks a lot!
I replace alternator other day just watching your video.
Your videos are priceless.

1A Auto Parts says:

that bar you see that has a nut on the end is called the tie rod. You might have to replace both the inner and outer tie rod ends to fix the alignment issue.

bnine says:

Hi there.
Thanks a lot for your videos.
Can You tell me what`s the name of the rusty bar just above stabilizer @ 1:46 of this video. I`ve been told that i have to change that bar and do front wheel balance test. Few years ago hit a curb and bar is a bit bent. Thanks.

Glad to see Im not the only Chucklehead who owns a Cavalier. All kidding aside these are fantastic videos that save TIME and aggravation. I hope this tighens up my steering .

This video should also cover the 88-05 Chevy Cavalier swaybar bushing install.

Fry says:

First off… thanks for all the videos Mike, they are extremely helpful. Do you have a video on replacing the sway bar bushings on a cavalier? I saw the video you have on the caravan but that sway bar isn’t the same as the cavalier. Does the control arm need to come off in order to change them?

Excellent video. Great camera angles and explanations. Keep up the good work.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to inspect the front suspension pieces like the tie rod ends and ball joints, to see if they are all in good working order.

Bunkers101 says:

I thought this was my problem, but the things you said isnt what my car is doing, Mine feels like it’s floating in the front in when you take a turn fast, Almost as if it is washing out in turns, i have good tire, so im nto sure what it is, any help?

It should. They should be located in the same area as shown in the video.

My 2002 Cavalier doesn’t seem to have these?

rolling422 says:

great step by step narrating, keeping it simple…thanks

HuntinGeese says:

I couldn’t watch this with sound so it may have been explained, but what will tell you if the bushing needs to be replaced? There’s a rattle coming from the front passenger side of my cavalier but I havent jacked it up yet to see if thats the culprit.

sudzy24 says:

i got mine quoted also and they said it would be around 600.00 or more

Tom Bradley says:

I did this one. Thanks for the help. It’s not easy getting the old one off. I had to cut it in two different places with a hacksaw, but I got it done. Also, I didn’t need to jack my ’94 cavalier up to do this. I just turned the wheels so I could reach it better. TIP: use a tire iron to pry the sway bar up if you need room to get the new pin on. Easy.

5 hours does seem like a lot. Rear control arm bushings are very different from this video though. I’ll talk to our product guys and see if we can get the entire rear control arm. Replacing the entire control arm is much easier than just the bushings. Search our videos for ‘rear control arm’ you can see what that requires.

Joe Johnson says:

I just got quoted at 5 hours of labor @ $90.00 /hr for a total of $450.00 just to install the right and left rear lower control arm bushings. Can someone here explain to me if this estimate was extreme, because if it’s the same process contained in this video it seems like I can do it myself. I’m just a student and don’t have much cash so I need to find help. Any info posted here would be great.

Thanks
