Thanks very much for the video. My clips that hold the window to the regulator had broken and the window would not operate. After watching your video twice, so it stuck in the grey matter, I check it out and repaired it. Thanks again. I never thought I would use the internet to find easy fixes such as this. Thanks again.

Slow windows? With the windows down, silicone spray the vertical weatherstrip, soaking the lower corners. Worked for me.

Hi 1A auto .. u guys should do a powersliding door repair video.. theres barely any info out there in the whole universe about it.. Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to remove the door panel and check to see if the window regulator is working correctly.

We currently do not have any repair videos on that particular vehicle. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make repairs on this vehicle in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Any tips for an 07 g6 ?

1A Auto Parts says:

You could use a little bit of white grease on the track, or some silicone spray on the weatherstrip seals to help them glide easier. hope this helps you out.

My windows are just slow on my 2003 Venture. Is it possible that the regulator needs lubrication? You mentioned lubricating the track on the regulator. What type of grease should I use?

Thanks SO much for the videos you put on here. They’re very clear and easy to follow. I didn’t buy my parts from you this time, because I just found out about you today, and because I needed to get this done right away, but I will bookmark your site for future reference.

Jerritte Couture says:

wha01: it’s probably far too late to tell you this, but I would DEFINITELY not pay anyone $1,000 to do this. It took me about an hour per side going slow to make sure I cleaned out old dirty grease, re-greased, and just generally tried to be careful. Also, the first side took longer, because I didn’t realize that there’s a small slot that the gear in the regulator has to slide into (probably took an extra 10 minutes).

All of the parts were about $110 (both motors and both regulators).

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like it could be the window regulator in the door. You may want to take the door panel off to see if there’s an issue with it.

@1aauto I have a ’97 Olds Silhouette (van) and the driver’s side and passenger side door barely gets up and down when its 3/4 of the way down. It comes off its track and if I push the glass back, then it works fine. Our mechanic says the whole door panel assembly (or something like that( needs to be replaced for about $1,000 (for both sides) or so which seems a bit crazy. Any thoughts? Im thinking and hoping it’s just a new regulator? Thanks.

This video saved me big time. I little knowledge is a great thing. I couldn’t have done without the step by step instructions. Good job.

1A Auto Parts says:

I would check all of the door seals to make sure they are fastened to the door properly, and that there wasn’t anything in the way of the window rolling up.I would also check for any guides or fasteners in the door that might need to be adjusted.

I put in a new regulator from 1aauto, but I still have a problem where the window goes crooked and gets stuck halfway when going up. My old regulator was bent, so i thought that was the problem. After replacing, I have the same problem. Any idea why the window isn’t coming up stratight? It seems to get stuck and the black plastic starts bulging outwards when you operate the window upwards.

mixcatcom says:

Great video, this helped me make easy work of my regulator.
All the best,

Got as far as the spring. Got the spring off and can not get that centre plug off the regulator?? Any advice?

1A Auto Parts says:

A little trick you can try is to spray some silicone on the window sweeps. It will help the window to glide easier. You can find it in a spray form at the local parts store. We carry a great amount of parts for your vehicle on 1aauto.com

BowenDesignWorks says:

Thanks. Both windows begin to bog down about 2/3 of the way up and then slowly creep up closed.

My passenger side finally gave up and I had to replace the regulator. I’ve seen this on several montanas/ventures. It appears the felt (stripping area) inside the door about 8″ below the side mirror gets out of shape causing additional friction which caused the window to grab.

I slowly and evenly pried the stripping back towards the interior to open it up and seemed to helped.

1A Auto Parts says:

Usually when an electric window regulator goes, the window slides to the bottom of the door, and usually you can’t roll it back up with the window switch.
