HI Juanita, You may want to check the door lock actuator on the door lock that’s not working correctly. We carry new ones for many different vehicles on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Juanita Aponte says:

I have a 2001 Chrysler Voyager. The lock will open but won’t go down. It also makes a noise when we lock/unlock. All switches work just the pass side door I need to put down manually. What do you think it is?

1aauto says:

You may want to check the switches with a test light or an ohm meter to see if there’s power going to and from them when pressed. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Katie Leavell says:

Ok i have a similar Question. I have a Chevy Venture 99′ i’m having lock trouble. I can lock all the doors using the power lock button but CANNOT unlock the doors on either side of the vehicle. what do you think would cause this

1aauto says:

We do not have a video that shows this particular repair. You may want to check the fuses to see if they are good, and also test the power going to the door lock to see if there’s power going to the actuator. If there is, the actuator may be bad. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

I have 1997 Trans Sport. One sliding door on passenger side. It won’t electronically lock or unlock. However it can be done manually. Do you have a video on this subject? Thank You

1aauto says:

You may want to look to see if there’s a piece of frayed wire some where that may be coming into contact with some metal, which may be causing this.

Glennys Ramirez says:

We have a 2006 Uplander. Last year, the door locks fuse would keep blowing. We noticed that water was leaking back into the car under the carpet and pooling in the wire wells. We got the leak fixed and replaced the fuse and it was fine. The fuse has started to blow again. No leaks. How do we run down the reason for the fuse blowing? What is the easiest way to troubleshoot the problem? When I replace the fuse, I can hear the locks trying to work. Then the fuse blows.

1aauto says:

It could be. If you can hear it try to lock but it doesn’t, then it might be a bad door lock actuator.

Sean H says:

i have a 2006 grand prix, driver side door lock will unlock but when i used to the switch to lock it, it won’t lock. i have to lock it by hand. could this be a bad acuator?

1aauto says:

If there’s power going to the door lock actuator it may be a bad door lock actuator. If there isn’t power to the door lock actuator there may be a break in the wire between the door and body of the car on the passenger or drivers side.

Miguel Cunha says:

I have Chevrolet Equinox 2008, when I try to unlock or lock all doors, the passenger door does not work. It only works manually locking and unlocking that door. I tried switching fuses in the fuse box located in the glove compatment with an other fuse in the fuse box. Same problem. What else can I try?

1aauto says:

The light comes on when the door opens and releases the door switch. it is normally a pin covered by a rubber cap that compresses when the door is closed and springs back then the door is opened. It is normally on the perimeter of the frame for the door on the vehicle.

1aauto says:

It it doesn’t unlock with the door lock switch, you may want to test the wire going to the door lock motor to see if it has power going to it. If the actuator does have power going to it then it might be the actuator that has gone bad. Hope this helps you out.

1aauto says:

You may want to test the wire going to the door lock actuator to see if they have power to them. If they do, the door lock actuator may be bad.

xdevilboy1987x says:

i own a 97 pontiac grand prix coupe ,,, i need help with the entire driver side door door lock doesnt work and my window doesnt work but my switches will control the passenger door window and lock if you have a video that would help alot

1aauto says:

The video shows you how to remove the window form the window regulator so that it’s not in your way while you’re trying to remove the door lock actuator on your van.

Rakesh Sachdeva says:

Thanks for the video helped me locate the actuator. Haynes manual was pretty useless for that. Silly question. You slid the window up and and held it with masking tape, what if you just have the window up before you start the job, is it restricting anything? I assume the power window wasn’t working in the Van that you did the video on..

1aauto says:

We currently do not have a video that shows this type install. We’ll keep this in mind in the event that we do something like this in the future.

Max Cossette says:

Do you have any videos on installing power locking doors that would work on a 1992 Chevy Blazer? If so could you please reply with the link? Also wondering if you sell the kit for it?

1aauto says:

You may want to check the wire that goes to the door motor to see if the motor in the door has current going to it. Hope this helps you out.

vulondra says:

I have a 99 pontiac Montana and the power sliding door has never worked since I bought it. I replaced the motor and it still don’t work. When the door is closed and I push the open button, it makes an unlocking sound but it doesn’t move. When the door is open and I push the button it just makes a click. I tried the rest option the manual suggests and nothing. Do you know what else it could be? You can email me @ kissalov@hotmail.com Thanks in advance.

1aauto says:

You may want to take the door panel off and see if anything came undone on the latching mechanism.

My 2000 Pontiac Montana power sliding door is stuck in the locked closed position

Any ideas to bypass or troubleshoot ???
Thanx for any help

I would check with a test light to make sure there’s power coming from that switch and also check the wire harness between the body and door of the car. There may be a broken or frayed wire in there.
