I know that feeling!
Check your Struts —- a friend of mine had the same problem, replaced struts, problem solved.
Thank you! Just did the front brakes on my cobalt yesterday with the assistance of your video.
It was so simple of a procedure though, that now I feel like an ass for all those previous times i have been paying $100+ for this same service I did in under an hour lol. I will never be paying someone to do the front brakes on this car again, and that makes me happy. Thanks again!
If you click on the link in the video we carry brand new rotors on our website. They’re made very well. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
You don’t have to, you could add some of the anti-squeek to the backside of the pads to help prevent any squeeking noises.
Just got my pad and rotor kit for my 2006 Saturn Ion from you guys. Other DIY vids or write-ups I’ve looked at say to put brake grease or anti-seize grease on the back and/or metal ends of the brake pads before putting them in the calipers. I noticed he doesn’t do this in the 1aauto brake vids I’ve watched. Do you not recommend this? Why or why not? Thanks! Your videos are great.
Thanks Mike, just changed the pads and rotors for the 1st time on my cobalt today. Had the car for 40K, wouldn’t suprise me if they were the pads from the car when it already had 40K at purchase. About to test them out.
Thank you thank you thank you Santa Mike!
You guys are the best. keep doing what you’re doing!
It should be about 20 FT LBS. You may want to snug them up with a socket wrench and then torque them down with a torque wrench.
How many did you said at the torque bar ?
If it’s giving you a hard time and is stuck in place. You could try to hit the backside of it with a sledge hammer to break it free. Always wear safety glasses while doing this.
If I’m having problem pulling my rotor off, what should I do?
thank you i took it off now i need to find the piece thanx for ur videos sir. and help preciated

It sounds like you may be referring to the steering knuckle. I’m not sure of the year make and model of the car that your working on, If you have a Haynes or Chiltons manual it should tell you the exact nut size and what type of a socket you’ll need. We carry many different steering components on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
