I have this issue. One headlight I can get looking brand new and the other

I used to do it like that, but they always got the oxidation back within 4
or 5 months. I found the best way to fix the problem is take em out, sand
them with 2000 until all of it’s gone, and clear the lights with some good
ol automotive clear out of the gun. Never have to touch em again. I did
that to my 02 about 2 years ago and still look good as new!!
