This wheel slid on ice into a tall curb at a 45 degree angle at about 10 miles per hour. The axle, control arm, and knuckle were replaced.

Dang ice! Mine didn’t bust but I was going about the same speed (10mph) and
same angle (45º). Noticeable difference with steering now. Thanks for the
vid YB! Might be able to fix her myself now.
slid my 1999 pontiac grand am into and up on a curb last night bent rim
blew tire control arm busted cv boots are busted alot of work getting it
off that curb threw it up on my trailer and towed her home gonna do the
same to my car here real soon waiting on parts
I drove my 2002 grand am hit something blew tire. Rim bent tire on still I
believe axle broken this on passenger side. I’m hoping no front end damage
I drove on it until I could find a spot had it towed about 10 min driving.
Booty damage. ..LOL Sorry the Jr. high kid came out.
That’s gonna be about what I have to do with my 1999 Grand Am Se. I slid on
the ice and hit the curve. Hopefully mine isn’t as bad as this though.
Gotta tear it apart and see what’s up with it soon.
Yes, it does. It happens on the cold, snowy, or rainy days. That’s
Murphey’s Law.
The joint inbetween the spline the inserts into the transmission and the
axle itself was crushed, which shortened the axle by about an inch.
It always happens on the coldest days. Good job, you just saved yourself a
pile of money.
Nice job ! Just a question – at 5:53 inner part of the axle looks too
short, is it broken or it is really that short ?
That’s odd. I don’tr know any other name for it other than knuckle. We got
it on eBay. Search on for the make and model of your car and add the word
steering knuckle. Tons of them will show up.
Same thing happened to my 2001 grand am gt. how much was the steering
knuckle?
Where did u find thesteering knucke for some reaso the idiots at oreillys
and te idiots at napa here had no idea what i was talking about??
Excellent work! I need to replace the arm/ball joint on my 2000 Grand Am. I
feel better about doing this now. THANKS!!!
i hate working on car in winter sucks when its cold out
