Ok…ABS has no relation to bleeding the brakes, usually its electrical such as a broken wire or defective wheels sensor.

As for the soft pedal, then yes, it can be the cause of soft pedal is all the calipers are bled very well and aren’t sticking.

I’m hoping maybe you can help me. I have a 04 Grand Prix. Abs light came on so I went to bleed the brakes and ended up needing to replace the caliper because the bleeder screw broke off. Bled brakes after replacing caliper and pedal is even softer than before. Have tried bleeding all 4 calipers with no success. Do you know what I may need to do or what I may be doing wrong?

I have a 2001 Grand prix and notice my brakes are squishy and i have to push my pedal pretty far and hard for them to do anything. What do you think this could be?

Turbo231 says:

Turbo231 says:

It does a bit…that’s why it is bled on the car, gets rid of the air in the system between the MC and the brake lines.

Thank you, Ben. When you bench bleed, and then remove the plastic tubes to substitute brake lines, what prevents fluid from dripping out the holes, allowing air back into the chambers of the master?
