2007 Pontiac Grand Prix No Low Beam Headlamps Repair

How to diagnose and repair a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with no low beam headlights. If the bulbs and low beam fuses test OK then the problem is likely a faulty HDM relay located in the underhood fuse panel.

Ok…. here it is 2023 and I was researching the issues with low beam not working on my wife's 2008 Grand Prix. I had already replaced both left and right spider headlight harness, as the driver's side was in need of replacement. Changed ALL the lights with New and checked the 15A fuses. still no low beam. Then I came across your video and replaced the block fuse and it worked. Thanks for letting us diy guys know about this.

Mike Peterson says:

It's a recall item for 04-08 Grand Prix.

Replaced it the first time which worked. 2 years later I had the same problem with lowbeam not working…forgot all about the relay fix till I found this video. Went back to O'Reilly and found out I had lifetime warranty on it so got it for free! Thank you!

Lupita Borbon says:

I loved your video, would it be the same fuses for high beams on my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Met Reaper1996 says:

The fuses he pointed too are the wrong ones

Sly23 Fox says:

I know this is a older video but i just ran into this issue thank you

Ozzie Fraire says:

Thx! I changed the HDM, and it works.

Eric Martin Smith says:

Andddddd….
It worked!
I can't believe I've been neglecting to try to get this fixed for months because I thought it was going to cost an arm and a leg, cost me $30

Momentumx23 says:

Checked the fuses (top right red), new bulbs, and the relay looked ok… NOPE it went bad. Got a GM relay, replaced it & everything worked perfectly! Thank you Sir!

gary williams says:

Wrong fuses, 3-4 are up in the middle of the rel

Thanks soo much for the insite at :58+ in. My LO Beams are not working. I check both hi an lo fuses…no issues. I then swapped relays to see if following the issue. Nope. LOs still don't work and HIs worked, so relays good. You explained that the switch triggers the BCM which switches the relay to allow power to the lights. It could be a faults switch or day/night light, but I am and having some other issues and related to BCM, soo I think it's on faults and going to go ahead and order one and replace it for me 2008 Pontiac GXP. Thanks so much for this video and your help! Wish me luck.

Charles parson says:

Mine wouldn't work last night going to check the fuses. Ty for the video

You’ve got an ice cold beer waiting for you in SC – this was driving me crazy & you solved my problem in just over a minute – thanks a million, Marty

G Schneider says:

My fiance did this repair and replaced the relay module on my 2006 Buick LaCrosse last year. Now it's gone bad again and I have no low beam headlights. From what I read on the internet there are people who have to replace theirs couple of times a year… that is unfortunate but since I just replace the bulbs last year I know the bulbs are still good I'll do whatever I have to do.

sti S. says:

There is a recall for them just take it to the dealer

John Frese says:

question for you I am looking for the location of my headlight relay on a 07 monte carlo can not find it any hints where it is thanks

Robert matheny says:

A little more info. The relay had issues with the pins contacting the power strip. When the recall came out GM replaces the relay with a new one. But the new one has thinner pins. They contact the power strip but soon fail because the power strip is old and just does not have pressure to secure the connection. Their fix is a $600 fuse harness. My fix was cheaper. Bend the pins slightly. Low pressure to apply more pressure to the strip. 3 years and counting. No more issues.

Chris Orr says:

That fuse panel under the hood is deceiving, the numbers on the side of the housing aren't the fuse numbers. Even though it says #3 and #4 beside those fuses. In fact those two fuses you pointed out are 15 amp and the two for the low beam headlights are 10 amp which are near the top in the middle position.

electro1015 says:

You pointed to the wrong fuses, 3 and 4 or the two on the middle right
