I went to a local scrap yard to find a replacement sensor because i was
told by my mechanic that mine was toast so I did ( I drive a 1997 Pontiac
Grand Am SE) and I could only find one model car that had these where i
should’ve been looking and it was a 2000-2003 chevy cavilier and when I was
removing it the part you pointed out that looks like a bolt goes into the
peice that holds it in place kept snapping and I knew something wasn’t okay
with it so I watched this video before purchasing the item and now I know
to slowly pry it off using a flat head screwdriver I just kept viciously
prying them off and thinking this isn’t right. Lol. Thanks for the vid. I’m
going give that another shot tomorrow and now know that a pontiac sunfire
has the same shaped sensor thanks bud really appreciate how simple you’ve
made this task.

Mine was full of tar from going down a newly paved road. I have a 2003
Cavalier and fixed mine from the bottom in 15 minutes without taking off
the tire and used a floor jack and stand. I used an Actron BrakeScan and
found out it was the left front sensor. I already changed the harness two
years ago, so I didn’t think that was the problem. I measured the voltage
at the plug and it was close to 5 volts, just to rule out that the harness
had not gone bad again. Great video!

how do u know which sensor is bad?

harlock001 says:

You don’t know which one, unless you have an OBD-2 scanner that can check
them. Mine cannot on the 98 Sunfire, but does on the 99 Blazer. Clean the
front first. Easy to access. The rear ones are pressed into the hub & I’m
not sure if they are even easily visible. At least there is a 50% chance of
solving the problem.
