You have everything you need under that hood for diagnostics. If you
suspect an injector is causing a miss in #4, and you know cylinder #2 isn’t
missing….just swap the 2 injectors, swap #2 for #4…then #2 should miss
if the injector is bad, and #4 will smooth out. Same goes for the coils, if
it has 2 coil packs….swap them around…. I wish I could still do this.
The fuel pressure regulator is close to #4’s hole too….
This is why you dont use junkyard parts for something like an
injecter!Power steering pump or something like it is fine from the bone
yard. You can check if the cylinder is missing by simply pulling off the
plug wire like you did,and if u pull it off and no change,it’s the bad
cylinder. Now you dont know if the junkyard injecter is good or bad.
@thunderstruckter666 The compressions good and it stoped burning oil. I
forgot to place the lower injector seal in place so it was just dumping the
fuel into the cylinder. I could have done a bunch of other tests to it but
I had a feeling that it was the injector all along. I’ll show what I did in
the next video. thanks for your comment
even if you change the spark plug number 4 did you check if you have spark
befor you stick it in the engine it could be and coil pack thats is missing
on the piston number 4
It is rather annoying that people smash parts with hammers to get them out
of their way at the junkyard instead of the extra two seconds to take a few
bolts out. Sucks for the people that actually need the part that was
smashed. Good video though.
i just sold the original injectors out of my supra for $150, good deal for
both me and the buyer. new ones are PRICEY. like $500+ and would work
exactly the same. and yeah that does look like a oil or coolant seal leak..
somewhere.
Argh! That’s so frustraiting huh? Is that a 2.2 by chance? Those and
cavalier, well ALL GM 2.2’s are CHRONIC for eatin head gaskets. <: p lol
Got a compression guage? also, have ya popped the rad cap to see if there's
oil floaties or that coffee coloured foam?
@mecanicman66 Hmmm well I could hear the spark snap when I pulled the wire
off of the plug. i did not put a spark check there to find out if it had
enuff spark too fire the plug. I should have. If it was a coil pack it
would be missing on cylinder #1 as well because it fires bolth 1 and four
at the same time but not the same stroke. i hope to have part two up tonight
recycle thats the way hubby had to go to the scrap yard also he get
alternator for our van>>>new almost 300,used was 75 what a diff all total
labor was 96.00
@tertym Yes you got it lol. I was in a hurry and never looked to see if the
second lower seal was in place and in the video you can see its mising.

can an injector be tested out of the hole
@edzgarage thats what I did and the missfire fallowed it. I forgot to put
the lower seal in place,
@wasjunk11 Nope its good. Part two will tell
@ShawnCFarm after review of video i heard the arcing
@dirtTdude It just throws you for a loop is all.

If it’s a head gasket you should be able to smell it in the exhaust. Does
seem like an injector. Is there power to it? Ever taste an injector?
Did you do a compression test on all the cylinders? And maybe a leakdown
test too? It looks like a bigger problem then a injector to me.
@killbillet420 I forgot the lower seal when I put it in.

head gasket….
I have the same socket set among many others!lol
@Ram2253spd I know I’m bad lol.
@462ANIMAL I forgot the lower injector seal. lol 2010 needs work all ready?
Did it get in a crash?
even if you change the spark plug number 4 did you check if you have spark

@ShawnCFarm lol I’ve done it before until I found a part I needed all
smashed up and to buy it new was pretty expensive.

@462ANIMAL isnt that a brand new car
Swap one of the good injectors with the used one and see if the problem
follows the injector. That’s what I would do.
Snap On…NICE!!!
@eclipse10101 nope

Yeah you forgot the o ring off the old injector lol did it make much
difference cos it would be sucking air in through the top of injector
Forgot O ring/seal on injector?
$145 bucks for an injector is a rip off!
You got steam man, head gasket for sure. How,s the coolant and oil, any
fouling?
@rubypuppy7 8 injectors for a Duramax are something like $5,000.oo dollars!

Did you have to recode the injector after installing it?
@ilovstodance reuse it all.

@TheBlaspheemer Yes thats what I ended up doing. The missfire fallowed. I
forgot to put the lower seal in place on the injector lol
i had the same problim with a boat once, turned out to be a bad ECU after
all the bullshit
