I just replaced all my chains and guides on my 2009 2.4 hhr. I replaced everything except the vvt wheels and the solenoids. It rattles worse than before. Does anybody know why. The tensioner has been set correctly also.

Ray Johnson says:

Can't help but notice that you did not mention how important it is to replace cam shift sprocket bolts, they are torque to yield and cannot be reused

Tucker says:

Hey man very informative video. I just got done rebuilding my 08' 2.4 Le5 on my cobalt. And i just did this job the other day with new cams and phasers.

Good job. And cudos, this job was kind of a pain in the ass.

I have the 2.4 echo tech in my malibu. Same engine and you do not have to take the whole camshafts out. There are plenty of videos and cloyes has one that shows how to do the timing I re did mine on my car and never needed to pull the entire camshafts. I replaced both gears and had plenty of room to put them on.

rick says:

how did it run? job was ok?

Anonymous98 says:

Did it work after you got through putting it back together? Any codes or issues with the valve timing? Thanks for making this video.

General! I found a broke lifter!? How do I post a pic here??

mavx31 S says:

Hi General, I have an 07 pontiac g6 and believe it just broke the belt. It has 170K on engine. Is it typically certain that valves get bent? Will be taking it into shop tomorrow.

andrew gleason says:

Dakota Brown says:
