04-08 Pontiac Grand Prix – Remove or replace the stock radio head unit

In this video I show you how to remove the stock head unit for all 04+ Grand Prix’s. This is useful if you need to repair the head unit or if you are installing an aftermarket unit.

Just make sure you set your parking brake. I will not be responsible if your car rolls away and hits someone or something.

Good job on the video. You mentioned the Theftlock feature these radios have so I was wondering if you know of an easy way to fix the digital display without having to replace the entire head unit?

Do you will recommend to replace the radio/cd player for a different type of radio? would be complicated to install a newer radio cd player. in my 2004 GTP? In my car the radio is fine, the CD play, but I can't remove the CDs. Any help?

Thanks a lot for all of these, it's been handy since I just got my base model recently so I'm planning out what I need to get the 5 button DIC etc from your vids

I want to put in a stereo that has built in bluetooth so that I can avoid using an fm transmitter (because I can't find one that sounds good plus you have to unplug or you drain the battery) but I'm finding out that you'd lose the onstar, door open chime and the passenger side airbag light. Any tricks to at least keeping the door chime or is it really hard wired in the stereo?

Peter Veresan says:

I have an 07 Grand Prix GT, my HVAC control button for temp down on the driver side does not work, and my passenger heated seat button does not work unless my passenger pushes the button really hard, almost as hard as he can. Any idea of how to fix this?
