Do you have a link to that 84 pound valve from ebay. Stripped my citroen c4 hdi 1.6 today to find that the egr valve body was reasonably clean. I took the valve modulator section apart and it looks as thou it had been rotating past the stop and jamming. So i want to replace the whole lot. Had a hunt on ebay and couldn’t find genuine valeo valve that cheep. Cheers from Australia.

They are a shit to strip and rebuild as they are spring assisted and need to be put together as stripped, take my advise just replace

I would like to know if u saw clear pollution in the old valve? Was it clear on sight that the old valve was dirty and needed replacing? Or is it just minor contamination that u could have cleaned of and than it would have worked again, maybe? Thanks for the video! I will be needing it someday probably because everyone arround me is have-ing to get their egr valves replaced. It really is a faulty system that gets the garages a lot of income these days i think.

not realy

Do you think it possible for the plastic EGR part to break because of the loose air filter cover?
I’ve been getting Antipollution System Faulty and random limp modes, went to Peugeot Service and they told me this is the cause (EGR broke because of vibrations from the loose air filter cover.)
Replacing it won’t be such a pain if the whole thing didn’t cost so much.

The fluid the technition if referring to is Eloys fluid, you may need to to a DPF regeneration and you will need diag equipment to do this, you could get the vehicle remaped and remove the DPF this will give you more bhp and will never require topping up again.

Albian Ismaili says:

Done it earlier.
A technician told me it can be a fuse box, since Peugeot already had a recall on some models. They did some upgrades in ECU software and BSI or something like that, I also added some INFINEUM additive and will try it for couple of miles since no error codes are shown in computer.
thanks

tomostrash says:

try changing your fuel filter

HI
I replaced EGR valve thanks to your video but it seams it was not the problem in my case. Even that technician told me that that is the cause of my issues. Pls watch this video and tell me what you think. (Search for “Peugeot 307 cuts off”)
After I unplug the battery cable it erases the error and works fine in most of the cases

Thanks

They came off easy with no problem, what ever you do don’t snap them off use plenty of freeing oil.

Hey I’ve got the same EGR problems on my C4 1.6HDi, same engine as yours. How did you manage to get the 2 bolts holding it in at the back off? mine were almost seized on and as such haven’t been able to remove mine yet!
