Im reaaly love this car ,but in Taiwan, these “hi-tech”cars always makes me feel very sad,cuz when Taiwan people can buy these cars ,it’s always become “old”cars…

David Harrison says:

wonderful review!!!
hope they come into Taiwan

jldude84 says:

I’m waiting for an automaker to copy the most efficient drivetrain yet from freight trains. All electric, all the time, with just a small diesel to recharge the batteries when low. No engines cutting in, no gearboxes, a constant 1000 or so engine rpm all the time for the longest life…

Bob Flavin says:

I’m glad for you, I’m actually testing another 3008 with grip control this weekend and I’m looking forward to it. It’s a huge complement from your Son, wish him all the best and thanks from me!

Anders Kingstedt says:

Your review won me over Bob – picking up my 3008 Hybrid on Friday. Keep up the good work; my oldest son (age 21) has got a man crush on you! 🙂

kirbster1977 says:

I agree. The 308 Looks really really nice. Great looking car, looks like a quality interior aswell. Look forward to Bobs review.

n3ilbwsm says:

Thanks Bob, I did order one after a test drive, and hopefully it’ll be ready to collect tomorrow!

Ologramma5000 says:

ugly car, and the hybrid version make (real) worst mileage than the only diesel version

INTERNED123 says:

Fantastic review, fantastic guy and it made me get me a 3008 hybrid 4!!

D McNamara says:

there is nothing like it on the market, the only way you will get a seamless transition is by high clutch slippage which increases wear.

vmilev says:

Hey Bob, thanks for the review. It does seem from the video that there is a bit rough transition whenever the car switches from diesel to electric and vice versa. Can you please compare the comfort felt from driving this against the Prius or even the Lexus hybrids?

Bob Flavin says:

If one comes up for test I’ll get it. 208 is the car of the moment right now but I’ll ask!

Elghorda says:

Love your reviews; any chance u will do a review about the new peugeot 308? i saw it lately and like it very much!! if u say it’s good i will buy it!! greetings from Morocco 🙂

TheGolfdaily says:

Great review! I have learnt a lot about this car thanks to this video.

Bob Flavin says:

The 7 seat Prius isn’t as good (or economical) as the 3008, just drove it the other day and while it’s nice it only has a shelf with all 7 seats up. The last row of seats are for kids only btw.

Bob Flavin says:

Sorry, I missed your comment. I think it’s on the left side of the steering wheel. There’s a switch for speed limiter and cruise control. Once it’s on you just press the plus to set it.

Friday Harlowe says:

The one who voted “Bad” had a Prius… LOL !

Friday Harlowe says:

basically similar to Prius system ? I have one Prius, and I’m French and I see everyday lots of 3008… There’s nothing to do with it !! Are you really sure you know what you’re talking about? On peugeot, it’s a Diesel, and each motor has its own part (thermal: front, electric: rear), and the Toy daesn’t have any system to correct the lags of the gearbox by using the electric motor, the 3008 has it!

n3ilbwsm says:

Great review thanks Bob. Where’s the cruise control situated please? Doesn’t look like it’s on the wheel from pics I’ve seen. Trying to arrange a test drive at present ahead of ordering. Cheers

Bob Flavin says:

Thank you!

organgoesheavy says:

Great video- Iam a fan of 3008. h4.

kplts1 says:

got my 3008 hybrid yesterday, and I love it.

cosmodave69 says:

Insight.ahead of the curve

Bob Flavin says:

Correct with the added bonus that you can attach the electric motor to any back axle with few modifications and servicing can be done at non specialist if you’re just getting the diesel unit done.

zeuss194 says:

This not because toyota made the first hybrid that it’s mean other manufacturer arn’t allowed to try to make hybrid there own way.
In Prius HSD, the system is fully integreated inside the gearbox. 2 electric motor/generator and petrol engine linked together via a powersharing mecanism.

In the HY4 You’ve got a normal diesel, with a Start and stop that act as generator. The whole electric propulsion system is in the back. If the hybrid system fail you still have a normal diesel to go with.

Bob Flavin says:

We’ve heard nothing about the 7 seat Prius coming to Ireland but no doubt Toyota will do something with it. It’ll still be a petrol model though, if your millage is high diesel will be a better option

Terry Gibson says:

It’s on a shortlist of 2 – the other one is the 7 seat Prius+

Are you likely to be reviewing that any time soon ?

Bob Flavin says:

Are you buying it?

Bob Flavin says:

Thank you!

Mihai Rebreanu says:

Such a great review!!!

foxdmulder says:

They use a diesel regenerative charge only. There is a 12v battery similar to a standard car for engine starting, electrics and other ancillaries.

Terry Gibson says:

Drove one of these today – Like you I was impressed.

Glenn G says:

Not drive without the diesel engine, drive without the diesel engine RECHARGING THE BATTEY? (Not shouting, just marking the words.. 😉
If you cant do that you earn nothing with charging it via diesel. The only way that should charge the battery is via regenerative braking, that´s the only way to gain mileage!

Bob Flavin says:

Thanks…I think

david dykeman says:

tanks for notten! great review Bob

Bob Flavin says:

How can you drive without the diesel engine if the battery is flat? I mean the clue is in your question

altern8ive says:

if you did some research you’d find that “world’s first diesel hybrid” are Peugeot’s own words not Bob’s. Actually they refer to the 3008 as being “the world’s first full diesel Hybrid vehicle”

Glenn G says:

Can you drive it without the diesel engine recharging the battery after it´s flat?
Retarded otherwise…
