Water Leak Under Drivers Seat, How To Replace Door Seal.
There are a few things you can do before replacing the door seal, as these are expensive from the main dealers, around £130.
In this video I share some more tips and tricks to save some money.

Im having issues with my seal on left rear. Volvo S40 2006. My issue is that the seal is loose. From like half top to middle right. When i push it in it just pushes out like if the seal is too short. Dont know how to fix. The seal does not have a grabby feeling when pushing it in. I have not manipulated the seal in any ways. I mean like banging on it or such. A new one as you say costs about 150 euro..

Any ideas how to repair? Maybe rotate the seal so the "bad" part goes to the bottom or at the left side. Dont understand why it seemt that the seal are short?
Do i have to apply some kind of chemicals to the lip on the car so the seal grabs better? glue it down with silicone? Dont know if there are something there OEM.. some kind of something.
Maybe put on tape to make it a tighter fit?
Please help.

I am wondering why the hell I can order this seal (which is made in Poland) at amazon for 3.89pounds for meter and… at the same time living in Poland I can buy the same seal with 35pounds per one single set for one door at domestic market. WHAT?

Thanks nice video!
Unfortunately I could not find the same sealing rubber with seam, that comes with it. Now there is a gap between the plastics and the sealing rubber. Is there any idea what I can do?

Thank you for this really brilliant informative video, can I ask you we have the 3008 and needs both driver and passenger doors seals replaced where can we purchase these seals? And do you think 4 metres per door be sufficient? Thank you again for the amazing tutorial.

Nothing much. says:

I fitted a 26mm × 17mm (same seller as descrp) door seal to the driver's door of my 3 door C1, then dried the carpet with a heater.

A few weeks later, the driver's front & rear carpet is wet again. I can see where the water is going over the top of the seal, like it was doing with the old seal.

Poured water down past the window to check the vapour barrier. No leaks there.

I'm tempted to buy one of those D or L shaped, 3M taped seals off eBay, & add an additional seal. They're dirt cheap

Hi Anton, if I've got water wushing about inside my door as well as the puddle on the floor (passenger side) would that be the window seal and not the door seal? cheers mate.

Joey Ward says:

Thanks for these videos. I first tried the one to gently bend the door back into place and that worked for a while, but now the puddle's back I'm hoping to invest in a new seal and hope that works!
