We have a 2013 same model, car is 8 years old only covered 54,000 miles fully serviced by Peugeot main dealer from new. Dealership had told us that the belt has deteroriated and damaged the engine so it is now burning oil and needs a replacement engine. Dealership won't fix and Peugeot won't do anything good will. Terrible design putting it in oil, once they start to degrade they damage the engine. Problem is this happens prematurely so it is an inherent defect design flaw. Newer service books say 6 years and 64,000 now wonder why……

Thomas Catford says:

im an old timer motor engineer, proper points and tappets man , being old and grumpy i dont get impressed much, but im well impressed with this video and content details , that chap knows his job, a fantastic video one of the best "how too" on youtube ,well done.

Nicolas Mertens says:

Did mine last weekend. Followed your 2 videos step by step and got it changed after 6-8 hours ! Struggled a bit on those rear bolts on the manifold but got them out using my interior rear-view mirror. Replacing them was a piece of cake! Thanks for the money saved. I did it on my 208 from 2013 80.000km. If I had to do it again, I'm sure I'll take half of the time.

Frank Gallagher says:

Citroen say 12 years change according to my mate who owns one with the belt in oil design . I wouldn't trust it for 12000 miles nevermind 12 year .

Frank Gallagher says:

I would never buy a car with this design of belt . It's a recipe for disaster. We are already hearing horror stories . It's a good job we are moving to electric cars with this belt in oil drive belt Garbage

lisa calder says:

My 208 is in peugeot now to get this done. Its only done 38000 miles

Pritesh Champaneri says:

There's me thinking these were chain driven.

Testacorsa says:

Designed to be difficult and expensive to repair. Thant's what's wrong with the world today. Good on you for doing this!

jespermattsson81 says:

Remember to remowe sump and clean out oil pump dip filter, my was cloged with belt rubber

Kenny Patrol 2 Zero says:

Excellent video, one of the best I've seen, and I've seen a lot of videos

Valeriy Sokolov says:

Сначала натягивается ремень и только потом затягиваются шестерни распредвалов иначе после снятия фиксатора фазы разбегутся

Pedro B says:

Hola desde españa.a k km están apareciendo problemas con la correa de distribución.graciad

nevets5891 says:

Great videos if a little long winded. I've got my first one to do tomorrow. I'll definitely be ordering a front crank seal to do at the same time!

Phate2323 says:

Also in regards to the tightness of those torque to yield bolts. I wonder if they felt excessively tight because they wasn’t new bolts and the stretch had already occurred when they was first done up at factory.

Phate2323 says:

What a desperate design choice. I know it reduces about 30% of friction from the drive of the valve train, but at what cost to many unfortunate customers.

fux fux says:

Very Shit engine..
